Abstract:

A point-of-sale device carries an article having plural interfitting parts that must be fitted together by a human assembler after purchase, and includes a panel for enabling the device to be presented to a prospective purchaser at a retail shop. The panel includes a container in which the interfitting parts of the article in the assembled condition are located. The container has a transparent region through which the interfitting parts, in their assembled condition, can be seen by a prospective purchaser. The point-of-sale device is mounted on a horizontally extending, elongated element carried by a pegboard.

Abstract:

A picture hanger has a base portion having a hole for an elongated fastener (nail or screw). The base portion carries a member enclosing a front face or the entire base portion. The member has a through hole aligned with and on one or both sides of the fastener hole. The elongated fastener is held in place in the holes so that the fastener need not be manually held during driving thereof into a picture frame or wall. The member is injection molded on the base portion, and consists essentially of nylon-6,6 having a Shore A hardness in the range of 80-90.

Abstract:

A point of sale apparatus for a coiled garden hose with a predetermined length includes a short coiled garden hose having a length less than the predetermined length. A vertically mounted backing carries (a) a spigot connected to a connector at one end of the short coiled hose, and (b) a holder carrying the short coiled hose. The spigot and holder are positioned to enable a prospective purchaser to see the coiled hose carried by the holder and connected to the spigot.

Odor emanating from feces deposited by a human making a bowel movement in a toilet is reduced or eliminated by applying a liquid deodorizer to the bowl of the toilet immediately prior to making the bowel movement. The article and fastener are located in the structure behind the transparent region so the article and one fastener can be seen by the prospective purchaser. The fastener is fixedly mounted between the transparent region and the article so the fastener can be seen by the prospective purchaser in front of the article and through the transparent region while the device is presented to the prospective purchaser and the likelihood of the fastener being misplaced prior to use, after opening of the transparent region is reduced.
