An electrical connector comprising a housing having a first surface and a second surface; and a contact secured to the housing. The contact comprises a mounting section connected to the housing and, a first arm and a second arm extending from the mounting section. The mounting section comprises an aperture and a slit through the contact from the aperture and between the first and second arms. The first arm extends towards the first surface and the second arm extends towards the second surface.
Printed Circuit Board Assembly Having A Bga Connection
An electrical connector may have a housing which has one or more printed circuit board assemblies. Each printed circuit board assembly has a plurality of signal traces and ground traces. Attached to the printed circuit board assemblies is a base. Disposed within one side of the base are a plurality of slots for receiving the printed circuit board assemblies. The opposing side of the base may have a plurality of pockets for receiving a plurality of fusible elements, which are preferably solder balls. Holes in the base provide a passage from the slots to the pockets. The solder balls are connected to the signal trace ends which extend into the base slots by metallic elements, such as contacts or solder paste.

Abstract:
An electrical connection assembly for providing a variety of input/output connections between electrical conductors and connectors. An electrical path is established between insulation displacement contacts positioned on a printed circuit board and one or more connectors connected to the board. The insulation displacement contacts are pre-arranged on the board in accordance with the board circuitry to provide a desired input/output arrangement. The conductors are terminated at the insulation displacement contacts on the board in a simple manner without a complex assembly and pre-arrangement of the conductor wires.
