Abstract:

The present invention provides a sheet separator and method for use in separating sheets of material, such as sheets of material that are provided in stacks. The sheet separator is inserted at a desired position within the stack of material. The sheet separator has dimensions selected to avoid damage to the sheets of material at the separation point or gap created by the sheet separator. The sheet separator clearly marks the gap into which a forklift blade is to be inserted, whereby damage to the sheets of material can be avoided, and injuries to forklift operators when attempting to slide heavy sheets of material can be reduced or eliminated.

Abstract:

Mutant rice resistant/tolerant to ACCase inhibiting herbicides, in particular FOP herbicides, are listed in Table 1. The ACCase inhibitng herbicides used for selection include quizalofop. An exemplary mutant rice tolerant to an ACCase herbicide is disclosed, with a rice genome having G2096S or the equivalent, in the carboxyl transferase domain of the ACCase coding gene, using the Black-Grass numbering system. This mutation shows differential response to FOPs vs. DIMs herbicides, and a greater differential with comparable non-resistant rice lines. Methods to control weeds and methods to produce herbicide resistant rice including transgenic rice, are disclosed.

Disclosed is an instrument wherein the pressure or flow of a fluid in a pipeline is monitored with a voltage proportional thereto being electronically differentiated to determine whether any rate of change of pressure exists, which is often indicative of a leak in the pipeline. If a rate of pressure change of a predetermined extent exists for a predetermined period of time and if a total pressure change exceeds a predetermined value, an output signal can close a valve in the pipeline or can sound an alarm. In addition, in situations where a liquid is involved, a surge develops upon a line break, that is, a large rate of instantaneous pressure drop, and such surge can also be detected and appropriate remedial measures taken. The instrument is also capable of shutting down the pipeline in instances of inordinately low or high pressure conditions.
