Abstract:
A method of providing a healthcare provider the ability to schedule an appointment including receiving a patient's requested appointment from an appointment scheduler; receiving an initial visit type from the appointment scheduler corresponding to the requested appointment; scheduling the requested appointment when it is determined that the requested appointment corresponds to a basic appointment; and providing the appointment scheduler with a set of decision support tools and responding to the requested appointment, when it is determined that the requested appointment corresponds to a complex appointment.
System And Method For Reducing The Steps Involved In Searching For Available Appointment Times And Scheduling Appointments In A Health Care Environment
A system and method for searching for and scheduling appointments in a health care environment. The present invention is a computerized searching and scheduling system and method for scheduling appointments. The computerized searching and scheduling system and method comprises a plurality of search definitions for defining a plurality of standard searches based on health care provider pools, date offsets and time ranges. The plurality of search definitions define a plurality of appointment visits that are available for scheduling appointments. The computerized searching and scheduling system and method further comprises a plurality of scheduling algorithms for determining a scheduling solution based on parameters and rules by visit type, procedure, providers, and/or resources. Execution of the plurality of search algorithms provides a plurality of available appointment time options for selection in scheduling an appointment.
A method and system for facilitating activity scheduling for a patient including the steps of providing an interface device for checking a patient in at the facility, receiving identifying information for the patient, identifying currently scheduled appointments for the patient where the currently scheduled appointments are associated with currently scheduled appointment activities, identifying at least one additional unscheduled activity for the patient in addition to the currently scheduled appointment activities, identifying at least one suggested appointment schedule including at least one open time slot during which the patient may complete the additional unscheduled activity and the currently scheduled appointment activities and presenting the at least one suggested appointment schedule to the patient.
The present invention provides a method for identifying patients using common forms of identification, and specifically readable personal identifiers such as credit cards, and for identifying dependents through a guardian's personal identification. The guardian registers the account with a health care database, and associates the dependent patients with the account. Thereafter, the guardian can process healthcare services for the guardian by providing a readable identifier identifying the account. As a result, the guardian can register the dependent patient for an appointment through a kiosk or other publicly accessible terminal, and can also access scheduling or other services.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a system and method for managing and tracking the location of patients and health care facility resources, including but not limited to health care practitioners, health care equipment, patient charts and other items in a health care facility. The system comprises a health care information system having at least one data repository for storing health care facility data, patient data and health care facility resource data and at least one graphical user interface in communication with the at least one data repository, and a graphical representation of at least one health care facility stored in the health care information system and displayable by the graphical user interface for managing patient care and health care facility resources. The graphical representation preferably provides an interactive map of the at least one health care facility for tracking the location of patients and health care facility resources.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a system and method for providing a comprehensive interactive anatomical graphical representation of a body for use in a health care environment. The system comprises a health care information system having at least one data repository for storing data and at least one graphical user interface in communication with the at least one data repository, and at least one anatomical map of a body stored in the health care information system and displayable by the graphical user interface for managing care. Because the graphical representation of the at least one anatomical map of a body is integrated within the enterprise health care information system, it allows a user to access patient data and health care facility resource data, perform actions on the displayed patients and health care facility resources, and manage patient care and health care facility resources.

Abstract:
A system and method for a comprehensive interactive graphical representation of a health care facility for managing patient care and health care facility resources. The system comprises an integrated enterprise health care information system including at least one data repository for storing data and at least one graphical user interface for accessing data. The graphical user interface comprises a display area for displaying a graphical representation of all areas of the at least one health care facility. The graphical representation is preferably an interactive map of the at least one health care facility stored in the data repository. Because the graphical representation of the at least one health care facility is integrated within the enterprise health care information system, it allows a user access patient data and health care facility resource data, perform actions on the displayed patients and health care facility resources, and manage patient care and health care facility resources.
