Abstract:

A method for conducting a vehicle diagnostic analysis comprises the machine-implemented steps of executing a software application for conducting the vehicle diagnostic analysis, receiving signals representative of parameters of a vehicle, accessing a software object over a data transmission network, the software object containing information necessary for conducting the vehicle diagnostic analysis, and determining a vehicle diagnostic state based on the signals representative of the parameters of the vehicle and the information contained in the software object. Since the information necessary for conducting the vehicle diagnostic analysis is distributed in different systems that are connected with a data communication network, an automotive service system can minimize the size of software stored locally and can access most of the information and/or algorithm required for conducting the vehicle diagnostic analysis from a remote system.

Abstract:

A film-forming composition formed by solubilizing higher concentrations of polyanhydride resins using a mixture of a fatty acid triglyceride derivative and a diester of 2-Octanol and Adipic Acid. In one embodiment, a composition in accordance with the invention comprises between about 1% and 55% by weight of Furandione (2,5)-Polymer with 1-Octadecene; between about 10% and 35% by weight of Dicapryl Adipate; and between about 10% and 35% by weight of Methyl Acetyl Ricinoleate. Such a composition may impart a water resistant property to oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions, and to anhydrous solid and semi-solid preparations, while remaining solubilized, stable and pourable at 25 C.

Abstract:

The invention provides a wheel balancer that is able to determine if its measurements are accurate. The invention takes a set of measurements and determines if the measurements are sufficiently consistent. If they are sufficiently close the invention uses the measurements to calculate wheel imbalance. If the measurements are not sufficiently close the invention uses the measurements to calculate wheel imbalance. If the measurements are not sufficiently close the invention rejects at least one data point and collects more measurements until either the invention yields sufficiently close data points or the machine is stopped. A display is provided for diagnostic messages.
