Abstract:

The present invention includes a method and system for providing location-based services to a telematics service subscriber. A message notice is sent to the telematics service subscriber and a request for messages is received. A determination is made as to whether at least one message includes a location information attachment, and then at least one telematics service is provided based on the determination. Another aspect of the invention is a computer usable medium used to provide the location-based services.

Abstract:

A multiplayer chess apparatus and method of play is disclosed. The apparatus consists of 108 hexagon-shaped tiles and 54 tokens. The tiles are arranged to create a field of play with the shape of a 6-tile by 7-tile hexagon. The tokens are placed on the tiles in three sets, one for each of three players. The tokens represent standard chess pieces on one side, and the reverse sides represent variant chess pieces. During play, according to the method of play, tokens can be moved, stacked, unstacked, or removed from play. Tiles can also be removed from play. The shape of the field of play, the use of tokens for chess pieces, and the method of play facilitate resolution of the petty diplomacy problem in chess. The apparatus can be adapted for use by more than three players.

Abstract:

A three-component system is used for total ankle arthroplasty in which a tibial prosthesis component is fixed to a distal tibia end, a talar prosthesis component is fixed to a talus, and a bearing component is positioned between and in contact with the tibial prosthesis component and the talar prosthesis component. In one embodiment, the natural curvature of the distal tibia end is maintained rather than creating a flat surface to which to adhere a prosthetic component. In still another embodiment, a lateral or medial incision is used to insert the prosthetic components of the total ankle arthroplasty.

Abstract:

In a steering column locking device a further protective mechanism for said locking device composed of an enclosure composed of two substantially semi-circular side walls, structurally hinged by concealed hinges at each of one extreme, a pair of open chambers forming a part of the other extremities of the side walls, the chambers being slidable one within the other. A cylindrical lock mechanism is carried by one open chamber and is keyed to operate a slug depending from the lock so that the slug engages an aperture in the other chamber thereby locking the two semi-circular walls about the steering column locking device.

A system, method and computer program product for facilitating collaborative decision making may be provided. The system receives data representing individual postings of users associated with a deliberation to make a decision. The system further receives ratings associated with the individual postings in order to make the decision. The system represents the received data in a hierarchical data structure. The system aggregates, through the hierarchical data structure, the ratings associated with the individual postings to obtain strength values. The system facilitates the making of the decision based on the aggregated strength values.
