A machine having a ground engaging element includes a first rigid metallic structure, a second metallic structure that is flexible with respect to the first rigid metallic structure, and a diffuser plate having a stress carrying region located between a first end and a second end. The first end has a rigid attachment to the first metallic structure, and the second end has a rigid attachment to the second metallic structure. The stress carrying region is flexible with respect to the attachments. A stress produced from a flexing of the second metallic structure relative to the first metallic structure is concentrated within the stress carrying region of the diffuser plate instead of at a weld location.
An axle guard assembly of a machine protects against intrusion of wire wrap into a central cavity of a ground engaging device. The guard, which is mounted to the axle, includes a wall disposed within the cavity of the ground engaging device. A cover can be provided which includes a flange circumscribing a central portion. The central portion is disposed axially inwardly of an inboard opening to the cavity. The flange can extend radially outwardly from the central portion and axially outwardly toward the wall. The periphery of the cover can be configured such that it is larger than the opening to the cavity. In another aspect, a support vane can be provided which extends along a longitudinal axis between a first wall and a second wall and includes a planar vane surface extending substantially radially to the longitudinal axis.
Compaction Apparatus And Associated Compactor Vehicle
A compaction apparatus includes a removable plate configured to at least partially cover an outermost arcuate surface of a wheel of a compactor vehicle. The plate defines a plurality of ports, each port being configured to receive at least a portion of a base of a compactor wheel projection.

Abstract:
A reinforcement device for a load bearing structure is disclosed. The reinforcement device may include a tubular wall including a first end, a second end, a throat disposed between the first end and the second end, and a curved portion disposed between the throat and each of the first end and the second end. The tubular wall may also include a first dimension at the throat and a second dimension at each of the first and second ends, the first dimension being smaller than the second dimension.

Abstract:
A front frame is disclosed for an articulated machine. The front frame may have a central tilt structure with parallel plates, a web member disposed between and connecting the parallel plates, and a hinge component connected to the web member. The front frame may also have mounting lugs connected to the web member opposite the base, the mounting lugs being configured to receive a pivot pin of a tilt cylinder. The front frame may further have two substantially identical lift structures located at sides of the central tilt structure, the lift structures being configured to receive spaced apart lift arms. The front frame may additionally have an axle mounting pad connected at a base of each of the lift structures and configured to engage a front axle of the articulated machine, and a bearing bore located adjacent the axle mounting pad and configured to receive a pivot pin of a steering cylinder.
