Abstract:
A power bridge rollout service system for removing and installing a power bridge, the power bridge having a housing with an external bus assembly. The power bridge rollout service system includes a roller assembly, an enclosure assembly, and a dolly assembly. The roller assembly is structured to support the power bridge and has a plurality of wheels. The enclosure assembly has a frame assembly structured to support the power bridge and has two wheel tracks. The dolly assembly has a frame assembly, a vertical lifting device, and a plurality of wheels. The vertical lifting device and wheels are coupled to the dolly frame assembly. The vertical lifting device acts upon a work platform such as a skid table assembly. The skid table assembly has a generally flat lifting plate. The skid table assembly may be raised so that the lifting plate is at the same general height as the frame assembly wheel tracks.

A housing assembly, structured to enclose a plurality of electrical components and flexible cables, each the electrical component coupled at least one other electrical component or to an input device by the cables, includes a plurality of mounting plate members and a plurality of vertical walls. The plurality of mounting plate members includes at least a bottom mounting plate member and at least one movable mounting plate member. Each mounting plate structured to support one or more electrical components. The plurality of vertical walls include a front wall coupled to, and extending generally perpendicular to, the base plate member, a first side wall coupled to, and extending generally perpendicular to, the base plate member, a second side wall coupled to, and extending generally perpendicular to, the base plate member, a back wall coupled to, and extending generally perpendicular to, the base plate member. The movable mounting plate member is pivotally coupled to the at least one vertical wall and is structured to move between a first, closed position and a second open position. Thus, a plurality of electronic components may be coupled to each plate in the plurality of plates, and whereby the electronic components remain coupled to each other as the movable mounting plates move between the first, closed position and the second, open position.

International Classification:
G21C 3/10
US Classification:
376451000
Abstract:
An insert is for the structural assembly of an electrical enclosure. The structural assembly includes a channel member having a generally flat portion with an aperture and a retaining mechanism, a side sheet coupled to the channel member, and a fastener coupling the channel member to the side sheet. The insert includes a first end portion inserted into the aperture and abutting the side sheet, a second end portion distal from the first end portion, a shoulder portion proximate the second end portion and being engaged by the retaining mechanism, and a tapered portion between the first end portion and the shoulder portion. An axial opening extends through the first end portion, the tapered portion, and the second end portion in order to receive the fastener. Tabs and corresponding notches facilitate proper assembly of the electrical enclosure and the fastener secures the electrical enclosure, once assembled.
Switchgear Assemblies With Molded Support Mounting Bus Bars Extending Through Barriers Between Side-By-Side Cabinets

Eaton Corporation - Cleveland OH
International Classification:

US Classification:

Abstract:
The cross buses extending through side-by-side cabinets in a switchgear assembly are mounted on the metal cabinet frames by supports having a molded body with a bus bar mounting surface laterally spaced from a support mounting surface to form a gap between the bus bar and the metal frame. A planar barrier inserted between the cabinets has a cutout aligned with this gap. The molded support further has a barrier surface which extends across the gap and blocks the cutout. The barrier surfaces of supports mounted on side-by-side cabinets abut and parallel flanges on the molded bodies adjacent the barrier surfaces form grooves in which the planar barrier is clamped.
Switchgear Assembly With Front Accessible Slide-In Fixed Power Switch

Eaton Corporation - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
H02B 104
US Classification:

Abstract:
Power switches are fix mounted in a switchgear cabinet by providing terminal sections on power conductors at the rear face of the switch housing which extend vertically beyond the housing. The power switches slide into cells in the cabinet through a front opening with projections on the sides of the switch engaging slots in mounting panels in the cabinet. The terminal sections of the power conductors are then accessible through the front opening for connection to the buses in the switchgear cabinet. Runbacks secured to the lower power conductors on the bottom power switch extend into a rear compartment in the cabinet for the connection to power cables as the power switch is inserted into the front compartment. A unitary arc shield/wire tray slides into the front compartment above the power switches after connection of the terminal sections to the buses and is removable to provide subsequent access to the power connections.

Abstract:
A lifting assembly for lifting an electrical switching apparatus for placement in an electrical cabinet includes a support frame moveable along first and second rail members mounted on the electrical cabinet. The lifting assembly also includes a winch having a spool, and a cable having a first end attached to the winch and a second end for lifting the electrical switching apparatus. The cable passes over a pivotable, rotatable cable support member mounted upon the support frame to provide even distribution of the cable on the spool. A plurality of wheels rotatable about either a horizontal axis or vertical axes are attached to the support frame for movement of the support frame along the rail members.

Abstract:
A heater for the middle, bus bar compartment of a switchgear cabinet is inserted from the rear compartment through an opening in a vertical panel at the rear of the middle compartment and is supported within the middle compartment by a bracket cantilevered from the panel. The bracket is U-shaped with a horizontal base and a pair of upstanding side walls forming rails on which the heater slides. The heater includes an inverted U-shaped guard over the heater element forming downwardly facing slots which engage the bracket rails. The guard and the bracket are perforated for convective circulation of air induced by the heater.
