Abstract:

An efficient system and method for zooming the light from a flashlight is disclosed. Multiple refractive lenses are translated in unison to allow zooming of the light while reducing the size and weight of the required lenses. In another aspect, a meniscus lens is used to reduce the amount of light lost from a light-emitting diode (LED). One method includes providing a light source in a housing and translating a lens arrangement substantially along a light path of a light beam generated by the light source. The lens arrangement includes at least two refractive lenses separated by a gap, a size of the gap being maintained during translation of the lens arrangement.

Abstract:

A disclosed substrate includes an electrically insulating circuit board, a pair of electrical lead pads adapted for mounting a light-emitting diode (LED) on a first surface, and a heat dissipating structure on the first surface. The heat dissipating structure includes an LED thermal pad adapted to abut the LED when mounted on the electrical lead pads, and a heat dissipation region extending from, and thermally coupled to, the LED thermal pad. The substrate also includes a thermally conductive plating on a second surface of the substrate opposite the heat dissipation region. A described lighting assembly includes the substrate, multiple LEDs connected to the electrical lead pads of the substrate, and multiple traces of the substrate connect the LEDs in a series circuit electrically isolated from the heat dissipating structures.

Abstract:

A photosensor control unit for use in a lighting module has a plurality of LEDs, a light sensor, and a switch adapted to operably control the plurality of LEDs responsive to the light sensor. The plurality of LEDs are adapted to be mounted in the lighting module, and are configured to produce light having wavelengths within a first range of wavelengths. The light sensor is adapted to be mounted in the lighting module adjacent the plurality of LEDs, and is responsive to light having wavelengths within a second range of wavelengths. The second range of wavelengths is exclusive of the first range of wavelengths. The switch is adapted to operably control the plurality of LEDs responsive to the light sensor such that the plurality of LEDs emit light having wavelengths within the first range of wavelengths responsive to the presence or absence of light within the second range of wavelengths.

Abstract:

TEXAS 21.5 BLACKJACK game utilizes a fifty-two card deck with aces through nines and 16 bonus cards (four “W's”, four “X's”, four “Y's”, and four “Z's”). The bonus cards are worth 10 unless dealt with an Ace on the initial deal. A hand equals “21.5” when it includes the initial combination of a bonus card and an ace. The player may hit, double-down, split a pair or surrender to acquire a final player hand when the player/dealer's face-up card is not a bonus hand. When the total point values are each greater than “21.5”, with the player/dealer point value being closer to “21.5” than the player point value, the player loses. The TEXAS 21.5 BLACKJACK game can also be adapted to be played on a digital video system, like on a typical video slot machine or live over in a digital video format over the internet.

Abstract:

There is disclosed a method of playing a card game between a player/dealer, which may be a computing device, and one or more players. Each of the one or more players may place a wager. A hand of two cards may be dealt to each of the one or more players and the player dealer. The cards may be dealt from one or more decks of cards, each deck including four Aces having a value of one or eleven, four each of cards having values of two through nine, and sixteen cards having a value of ten. The dealt hands may be evaluated adding the values of the two cards comprising each hand. A hand consisting of an Ace and one of at least some of the sixteen cards having a value of ten receives an additional value of 0.5, whereby the total hand value is 21.5.

A web-based case management system includes a centrally-located database for electronically storing case information including data, documents, and images. Further, the system includes an interface webpage that is viewable at a remote location. On the interface webpage, a plurality of links is provided, and each link is associated with specific case information. Also, the system provides a plurality of content webpages accessed by a user via respective links. When accessed, a content webpage displays the case information stored in the database and associated with the selected link. A tiltable platform and container system employs a container on a tilted platform which when released will move rearwardly under the influence of gravity to an off-loading position. The container is loaded by a winch and cable attachable to the container to roll the container onto the trailer.
