· First Selectman Susan A. Cable joined forces with Region 16 and TEAM to obtain and secure a $107,000 School Readiness Grant. It will fund a full day program for pre-school age children at Laurel Ledge School beginning the first of the year. • Implemented a Geographic Information System (GIS) in conjunction with COGCNV and town volunteers. GIS allows for creation of digital parcel maps. Financed through grants. Developed a Code Red System; a telecommunications program for emergency messages to reach all residents. Obtained grants to lower cost to extend necessary water lines in areas of town in dire need. Negotiated to build Region 16 High School in Beacon Falls. Secured $3 million in grants for Depot Street Bridge repair, completed in 2011.
