A cautery pen cover can cover a cautery pen, with little modification thereto, such that the cover must be retracted to both expose the tip and the trigger of the cautery pen. The cover is designed as a protective sleeve that prevents actuation of the cautery pen trigger until the cover is retracted. The cover automatically returns to the covered position when it is released. The cover is always on the cautery pen, whether in use or just lying on the operating field, thereby not requiring users to place and secure the cautery pen in a plastic holster. The cautery pen use various energy sources, such as electro or radio frequency, or any other source that results in cautery or cutting of tissue.

Abstract:
The present invention provides for a universal safety syringe adapter that allows for a standard syringe, vacuum tube or other medical device to be quickly modified to have a protective sheath which may be deployed automatically upon activation of a release member with a single hand in order to propel the protective sheath from a retracted position to an extended position covering a needle in order to avoid sharps injuries and protect medical or other professionals using the instrument. The present invention also provides for a syringe safety device which includes a protective sheath having an elastic member in order to propel the protective sheath from a retracted to an extended position.
Cautery Protective Accessory Sleeve With Stabalization System
A cautery pen tip accessory cover comprises a cylindrical member that can receive a cautery pen in a first end and the tip of the cautery pen can extend from a second opposite end when the cover is in a retracted configuration. The cylindrical member has an opened lateral exposure that allows the feel of the cautery pen therethrough. A cover exposure opening in the cylindrical member to provide access to a trigger of the cautery pen when the cautery pen tip cover is in the retracted configuration. A resilient member urges the cautery pen tip cover to the non-retracted configuration where access to the cautery pen trigger is prevented. The cylindrical member is easily retracted by a finger ring configured permanently into the cylindrical member, allowing easy retraction of the cover by the operator squeezing the cover to a resistance bar stabilization system accessory configured over the cautery pen.

A safety sleeve system for syringes and other needle-based devices prevents accidental needle sticks after use of the syringe. The safety sleeve system allows an easy mechanical cover that, once actuated, locks over the exposed needle for safe coverage and disposal, or, in a sterile situation, allows for exposure of a clean needle. The safety sleeve system minimally alters an existing syringe and allows for identical use and function, with only an outer sleeve cover that follows tracks embossed on the exterior of the existing syringe. This sleeve cover can be twisted and locked in an operation position, where the needle extends from the sleeve cover, or in a safety position, where the needle is encased by the sleeve cover.
