Abstract:

A system for detection and avoidance of victim services in ultra-wideband (UWB) systems is provided. A detect and avoid module may calculate power averages of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing tones. The power of tones may be measured and compared with power averages of corresponding tones. If a measured tone power exceeds an average power of a corresponding tone by a dynamic threshold, the tone may be identified as associated with an interferer. The threshold may be inversely related to the gain level of an automatic gain control module. The UWB subsystem may be configured with known bands of victim services of other radio frequency systems, and a tone identified as associated with an interferer that is within a known victim service band may be identified as a victim service. The UWB subsystem may attenuate or otherwise suppress transmission within the victim service band to avoid interfering with the victim service.

Abstract:

A method, system, and computer-readable medium for detecting an interferer in a wireless communication system are provided. The method includes receiving a signal having P tones, each of the P tones being associated with a frequency, determining a first signal quality of each of the P tones, determining a second signal quality of each of the P tones, and detecting the interferer that occupies the same frequency as one of the P tones based on the respective first signal quality and the respective second signal quality. The first signal quality and second signal quality behave differently when the interferer is present. The detecting the interferer includes determining a discrepancy in the behavior of the first signal quality and the second signal quality.

One embodiment is an enhanced power supply including electronic power supply circuitry within a housing. An amplifier includes a first pair of FETS arranged in a differential amplifier configuration having their drain-source paths connected between a first constant current source and a point of operating potential. A second pair of FETS has gate electrodes coupled together for receiving an input signal, source electrodes coupled together to a second constant current source, and drain electrodes connected to sources of third and fourth FETS, respectively. The gate electrodes of the fourth FET and the first FET in the first pair are connected to the sources of the third and fourth FETS, respectively, the latter connection forming an output junction. A third pair of FETS has gate electrodes coupled together for receiving the input signal, source electrodes coupled together to the source electrodes of the second pair to form another differential amplifier configuration, and drain electrodes coupled to the source electrodes of fifth and sixth FETs, respectively. The sixth FET has its source electrode coupled to the gate electrode of the second FET in the first pair, and its gate electrode coupled to the source electrode of the fifth FET. The drain electrodes of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth FETS are coupled to the point of operating potential.

Abstract:

Improved series and shunt switching cells for selectively switching an RF input signal to an output over a wide range of frequencies and in a linear manner. The series cell includes an input FET which has the source electrode clamped by means of a diode clamping circuit. The diode clamping circuit is in series with a second FET which has applied to the gate electrode a control voltage. A third FET has its source electrode connected to the source electrode of the second FET and has the drain electrode coupled through a diode to the drain electrode of the second FET. The drain electrode of the third FET is coupled to the gate electrode of a fourth FET where the source electrode of the fourth FET controls a series switching FET to enable the input signal to be switched to the output. The series switching FET has its source to drain path in series with a gate electrode of a fifth FET with the source electrode of the fifth FET coupled through a resistor to the drain electrode of the second FET and to the drain electrode of a sixth FET with the sixth FET having its source electrode coupled to the source electrodes of the second and third FETs and the gate electrode for receiving a control signal of opposite polarity to the control signal applied to the gate electrode of the second FET. The switch is a series cell which provides linear switching of the input signal to an output over a wide range of frequencies.

A method of accomplishing switchover from an inservice local to a remote NP (Network Processor) is described. The remote NP is periodically updated with configuration data obtained from the inservice local NP. Switchover from the local inservice NP to the remote NP is initiated.
