Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments of the present invention disclosed herein relate to a method of booting a computer system using preboot data. A method in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention comprises transmitting a boot request and receiving, in response to the boot request, a boot loader that is adapted to read preboot data. The exemplary method may additionally comprise transmitting a request for boot data corresponding to the preboot data, receiving boot data corresponding to the preboot data, and booting the computer system using the boot data.

Abstract:
Example embodiments relate to use of a virtual machine image for sharing Internet access available to a mobile computing device. In example embodiments, a virtual machine image maintained on a storage device of a mobile computing device is received in a client computing device. A guest operating system (OS) contained in the virtual machine image may then be executed on the client computing device. Network data may then be exchanged between the guest OS and the mobile computing device over an interface between the client computing device and the mobile computing device.

Abstract:
In an example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a system comprising a camera, a plurality of displays and a processor. The processor receives a series of images, from the camera, corresponding to a physical environment, wherein the series of images include the plurality of displays. The processor identifies a fiducial mark within the series of images corresponding to a display. The processor determines a three-dimensional space based on a camera position based on the series of images. The processor determines a location within the three-dimensional space corresponding to the one of the plurality of displays. The processor creates a geospatial relationship between the location and the camera within the three-dimensional space. The processor correlates the geospatial relationship to a display configuration screen. The processor creates a pointing device path in the display configuration screen corresponding to the geospatial relationship.

Abstract:
An example display system includes a load engine and a calibration engine. The load engine causes an inquiry for current calibration measurement data and retrieves factory calibration measurement data when the current calibration measurement data is unavailable. The calibration engine receives a target set of display characteristics, generates a color profile from a native panel performance representation to operate a display according to the target set of display characteristics, and causes adjustment of a display according to a difference between the target set of display characteristics and the native panel performance representation using the generated color profile.

Abstract:
According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor that may access an assignment of a capability to a hardware port such as a Universal Serial Bus (“USB”) port. The apparatus may virtualize a USB port, assign capabilities to the virtual USB port, and provide electrical communication via the USB port subject to the assigned capabilities. The electrical communication may include power delivered via the USB port, or data communicated via the USB port.
A system, method, and apparatus for modifying the state of headphones is disclosed. For example, a system may include a pair of headphones in a first state and a headphone assembly physically connecting the pair of headphones. The system may include a biometric sensor located on the headphone assembly. The system may also include a local authenticator located in the pair of headphones to switch the headphones to a second state in response to a user providing authentication to the pair of headphones by interacting with the biometric sensor.

Abstract:
Examples of timing controllers (TCONs) for display calibration are described. In some examples, a command to enter a built-in self-test (BIST) calibration mode for calibration of the display may be received at a TCON. A BIST circuit of the TCON may generate optical calibration patterns to be displayed by the display.
