Abstract:

A removable wire caddy that is constructed for use on a step ladder , or which may be used independently of a ladder, to hold and dispense spools of wire . The wire caddy comprises a support bar intermediately connected to a pair of spacer bars , the spacer bars being intermediately connected to a base leg of a U-shaped frame . A pair of parallel side legs extend from the opposing ends of the base leg of the U-shaped frame , and a rectilinear spool support rod is releasably supported between said parallel side legs . The configuration of the spacer bars , support bar and base leg form two c-shaped recesses that straddle the side rails of the ladder . The spacer bars rest on the step of a ladder , the support bar engages behind the side rails of the ladder and the U-shaped frame supports the spools of wire out in front of the ladder
