  • Archery Bows With Brace Rod Receivers And Brace Rods For Mounting Bow Handle Grip In Variable Positions Relative To Archery Bows

    view source
  • US Patent:
    20130112182, May 9, 2013
  • Filed:
    Nov 8, 2011
  • Appl. No.:
    13/373308
  • Inventors:
Terry Martin - Walla Walla WA, US
  • International Classification:
    F41B 5/14
  • US Classification:
    124 231
  • Abstract:
The invention encompasses archery bows that comprise brace rods configured to detachably couple with an archery bow bridged handle. In one aspect of the invention, a handle grip configured with brace rod receivers at opposing ends of the handle grip is detachably joined with brace rods connected to the bridged handle. The handle grip may then be selectably positioned along the brace rods and the distance between the handle grip portion and the bow string may be adjusted to accommodate different draw lengths and grip angles of various archers. In another embodiment, an end of the handle grip comprises a slotted aperture configured to accommodate a brace rod receiver so that the brace rod receiver may be fastened at various positions along the slotted aperture changing the angle of the handle grip relative to the brace rod receiver.

  • US Patent:
    51742683, Dec 29, 1992
  • Filed:
    Jun 20, 1991
  • Appl. No.:
    7/718207
  • Inventors:
Terry G. Martin - Walla Walla WA
George T. Newbold - Walla Walla WA
  • Assignee:
Martin Archery, Inc. - Walla Walla WA
  • International Classification:
    F41B 500
  • US Classification:
    124 256
  • Abstract:
Eccentric wheels of a compound archery bow are mounted in respective bow limb receiving slots for pivotal movement between a rest draw angular position and a full draw angular position. Each wheel pivot axis extends transversely across the respective wheel receiving slot and is spaced an effective preset slot depth distance A from the respective slot root. Each wheel has a bowstring portion with a peripheral bowstring track formed therein for receiving a section of a bowstring. The peripheral bowstring track has a progressively increasing moment arm radius relative to the respective pivot axis from a rest draw segment to a full draw segment. The moment arm radius from the pivot axis to the full draw segment of the bowstring portion is greater than the effective slot depth distance A to extend the effective length of the respective flexible power limb at the full draw angular position by a distance greater than the slot depth. The wheel full draw segments of the bowstring portion in the rest draw angular position are positioned forwardly over the respective bow limbs and are separated from one another by a distance B which is less than a distance C separating the respective wheel axles. The wheel full draw segments of the bowstring portions in the full draw angular position are positioned rearwardly of the respective bow limbs and are separated from one another by a distance D which is greater than a distance C' separating the wheel axles at full draw.

  • US Patent:
    48891029, Dec 26, 1989
  • Filed:
    Jul 8, 1988

  • Inventors:
Terry G. Martin - Walla Walla WA
  • Assignee:
Martin Archery, Inc. - Walla Walla WA
  • International Classification:
    F41B 500
  • US Classification:
    124 88
  • Abstract:
An archery bow and an archery bow handle in accordance with the invention includes an arrow window defined by a horizontal shelf and a generally vertical sidewall. An elongated horizontal slot extends through the sidewall and has a minimum predetermined width sufficiently great for slidably receiving a threaded bolt of an archery bow attachment therethrough to enable selective positioning of such an attachment relative to the bow. An elongated shoulder is provided substantially coextensively within the slot and defines bearing surfaces against which a predetermined size threaded nut received by the threaded bolt can tightly bear for securing the attachment to the bow. The width of the widest portion of the slot is sufficiently great to just slidably receive the nut, but prevent such nut from rotating within the slot. The opposite side of the vertical sidewall includes a recess having a threaded hole extending therefrom into the sidewall. The recess is adapted to receive another archery bow attachment which is securable to the bow by a threaded bolt received within the threaded hole.
