Abstract:
A multipath circuit is described that has multiple signal paths and various common components used for normal operation. Each of the multiple signal paths also has multiple circuit blocks defining the functionality of the signal path. A shared access path is provided through the third winding of a three-way transformer for each signal path. Multiple switches are provided in the multipath circuit that couple to the third winding in each of the multiple signal paths. The switches are also coupled to the various common components. Selected ones of these switches may be closed to provide a shared access path between a common component and one of the signal paths or between a common components and one of the circuit blocks in one of the signal paths.

Abstract:
A disk head position control system having a disk head controller that moves a disk head relative to a surface of a magnetic media disk encoded with a plurality of tracks of a quadrature burst pattern includes a burst pattern that comprises an asynchronous, multi-frequency track address code having burst pattern transitions that extend across the width of a track and are arranged in staggered fashion in alternate tracks such that no transitions between adjacent tracks are aligned in the disk radial direction.

Abstract:
A digital servo system for a disk drive provides servo information signal demodulation. The system includes a digital demodulator including a burst signal accumulator that accumulates terms according to respective burst timing intervals to produce a digital, quadrature position error signal (PES). The demodulator also can include a dibit burst filter with synchronous dibit sampling preferably implemented as a Hilbert Transform filter. Alternatively, the demodulator does not include a filter and a squarer and, instead, the squarer comprises a sum-and-squarer that sums the squares of odd and even digitized samples. In another embodiment, the system employs a digital demodulator having a digital squarer that removes any phase component of the digitized servo information signal and includes a burst signal accumulator that accumulates the squared terms according to respective burst timing intervals to produce the PES. The demodulator may include a filter comprising a harmonic notch filter. A spilt burst servo pattern for the servo control system is comprised of half-width transitions that can be written in a signal pass of a recording head and therefore has no phase misalignment between adjacent flux patterns.

Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a system product for mixing radio frequency signals are provided. In one aspect, the apparatus is configured to perform switching of switches based on first, second, third, and fourth phased half duty clock signals. The apparatus convolves a differential input signal on a differential input port with the first, second, third, and fourth phased half duty cycle clock signals to concurrently generate a differential in-phase output signal and a differential quadrature-phase output signal on a dual differential output port. The first, second, third, and fourth phased half duty cycle clock signals are of the same frequency and out of phase by a multiple of ninety degrees with respect to each other.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for minimizing transmit signal interference is provided. The method includes the steps of: receiving a signal and amplifying the received signal. The received signal is then mixed with an intermediate frequency signal to obtain a baseband modulated signal. The baseband modulated signal is first filtered in an RC filter. The resulting signal is then divided by a preselected amount and the first divided portion is sent to a main path of a biquad filter, which produces a first stage biquad filtered signal. The second portion of the divided signal is sent to an auxiliary path of the biquad filter, and produces a second filtered signal. The first and second signals are then recombined and sent to the second stage of the biquad filter, where further filtering takes place.
