Abstract:
An interface module for a communications system includes a processing device and a peripheral device which are interconnected through a communications bus. The interface module includes a transceiver interface and a protection circuit. The protection circuit is positioned between the transceiver interface and a port configured to receive a signal from a terminal of the communications bus. The protection circuit is further configured to automatically provide a protection voltage to the transceiver interface if a power supply for the transceiver interface is inactive. The protection voltage is derived from the signal received at the terminal.
A method for real-time multiparty communications across a social network organized according to a fluid timeline is taught. In the method, a user accesses the social network. The user views a story posted by a first user and favorably reacted to by a second user. The user also likes the story, so the user favorably reacts to the posted story. Since a threshold number of users have favorably reacted to the posted story, a collective network group messaging feature is made available. The user accesses the feature participates in real time in a collective network group messaging session in a virtual room with at least one other user.
System And Method For Using Portal Systems In Augmented Reality Virtual Environments
An orthogonal or multi-dimensional fabric user interface is described herein. A remote server executes an operating system that provides a multi-dimensional fabric user interface for storing content for a particular user. The user can access select content by manipulating the multi-dimensional fabric user interface through a graphical user interface displayed on a personal mobile computing device. In this way, the user experiences and manipulates various data dimensions around the specific content they are accessing, rather than selecting a particular file structure location. The remote server also enables the user to enter a first location side of a portal and travel to a virtual representation a second actual physical location in the multi-dimensional fabric user interface from a virtual representation of a first actual physical location in the multi-dimensional fabric user interface.
System And Method For Synchronization Of Multiple User Devices In Common Virtual Spaces
An orthogonal or multi-dimensional fabric user interface is described herein. A remote server executes an operating system that stores content in a multi-dimensional fabric. Multiple users can access a common virtual space to view content that is stored in the multi-dimensional fabric at a specific location and time. The users request the specific location and time. The remote server accesses the multi-dimensional fabric to anchor content within the common virtual space based on the specific location and time. In this way, multiple users experience location and time driven content together.
A system for conducting a video conference is descried herein. The system conducts a video conference by receiving video and audio data for a plurality of participants of the video conference and displaying a representation of the participants in presentation containers. The video and audio data is used to determine an engagement level of each participant. The engagement level is used to determine a position of the presentation containers. The position of the presentation containers is changed based on changes in the engagement level as the video conference is being conducted, thereby causing the presentation containers to move across a display.
Dynamic Content Delivery Based On User Movement Using A Multi-Dimensional Fabric Interface
An orthogonal or multi-dimensional fabric interface is described herein to select and present content to a user. A location is determined and time is selected for the user. An area of interest for the user is determined based on the determined location and the selected time. The multi-dimensional fabric is accessed for content based the area of interest. Content stored in the multi-dimensional fabric at location and time coordinates within the area of interest are selected and presented to the user.
Content Notification Using A Multi-Dimensional Fabric Interface
An orthogonal or multi-dimensional fabric interface is described herein to select and present content to a user. A location is determined and time is selected for the user. The multi-dimensional fabric is accessed for content based the determined location and the selected time. If content is stored in the multi-dimensional fabric at the determined location and the selected time, the user is notified of the content, which can then be presented to the user.
Accessing Content Using Time, Topic, And Location To Transition Between Display Modes
A computing system for presenting on a mobile device pieces of content each connected to a geographic location is described. The facility plots visual indications of the pieces of content in a two-dimensional display with respect to an origin point representing a user geographic location. In particular, for each piece of content, the facility plots a visual indication at a point that is (1) in a direction from the origin point that corresponds to a compass direction from the user geographic location to the geographic location to which the piece of content is connected, and (2) at a distance from the origin point that corresponds to a predicted amount of time to travel from the user geographic location to the geographical location to which the piece of content is connected.
