Abstract:

An automotive component () and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The component () comprises a core portion () formed of a first material and a second portion () integral with the core portion () and formed of a second material. In one illustrated embodiment, the first and second materials have different material property characteristics. For example, the first material can be made of a relatively harder plastic material than the second material made of a softtouch plastic material. The method for manufacturing the component comprises the steps of injecting the first material into a first cavity of a mold to form the core portion (), altering the mold cavity to form a second cavity and injecting the second material into the second cavity while the first material is in a reactive state to form the second portion () of the component. Because the first material is in the reactive state, the second material is integrally formed with the first material.

Abstract:

A method of operating an air-treatment appliance, as provided herein, may include directing a fluid-motivating unit (FMU) to motivate a fluid through the air-treatment appliance based on a condition setpoint. The method may also include receiving an ambient condition signal. The method may further include measuring a total active time of the FMU over a predetermined time period and estimating a power consumption based on the total active time of the FMU. The method may still further include determining a diagnostic state of the air-treatment appliance based on the ambient condition signal and the estimated power consumption. The method may include transmitting a state signal to a user interface according to the determined diagnostic state.

Abstract:

A gas feed tube assembly for a gas fueled water heater and a water heater including such assembly. A pair of gas tubes are connected with one tube received into the other and secured between a pair of complementary fasteners position along a wall or door the water heater. Abstract:

A water heater defines a vertical direction and includes a tank for holding water. The water heater further includes a shroud positioned over the tank along the vertical direction. The shroud defines a chamber over the tank, and includes a partition wall that divides the chamber into first and second chamber portions. The water heater includes an evaporator disposed within the first chamber portion, and a compressor disposed within the second chamber portion. The partition wall is positioned between the evaporator and compressor within the chamber of the shroud. Further, the shroud defines a vent extending through the shroud to the chamber of the shroud. In one embodiment, the vent is contiguous with the first chamber portion.

Abstract:

Air conditioner units are provided. A unit includes an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger, and a compressor. The unit further includes a bulkhead disposed between the outdoor heat exchanger and the indoor heat exchanger. The unit further includes a vent aperture defined in the bulkhead. The unit further includes a dehumidification system disposed at least partially within the outdoor portion, the dehumidification system including an evaporator configured for removing heat from outdoor air flowing therethrough, a condenser configured for adding heat to outdoor air flowing therethrough, and an auxiliary compressor in fluid communication with the evaporator and the condenser. The unit further includes a temperature sensor disposed within the outdoor portion, a humidity sensor disposed within the outdoor portion, and a controller in communication with the compressor, the auxiliary compressor, the temperature sensor, and the humidity sensor, the controller configured to operate the compressor and the auxiliary compressor.

Air conditioner units and methods for providing make-up air are provided. An air conditioner unit includes an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger and a bulkhead. The air conditioner unit further includes a vent aperture defined in a rear wall of the bulkhead. Air conditioner units and bulkhead assemblies for air conditioner units are provided. A bulkhead assembly includes a bulkhead which includes a first sidewall, a second sidewall spaced apart from the first sidewall along a lateral direction, and a rear wall extending laterally between the first sidewall and the second sidewall.
