Abstract:
A pressure equalizing housing may be used to house equipment (e. g. , one or more mechanical and/or electronic devices). The pressure equalizing housing may include a pressure equalization device to provide pressure equalization between an internal pressure inside of the housing and an ambient pressure outside of the housing. The pressure equalization prevents relatively humid air outside of the housing from passing into the housing and thus prevents or substantially minimizes condensation inside of the housing.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and system that improve the low-speed control stability of a video camera assembly, including a video camera, a tilt motor operable to tilt the video camera and a pan motor operable to pan the video camera. A first encoder is coupled to one of the tilt motor and pan motor. The first encoder outputs a plurality of signals having corresponding signal edges, based on a rotation speed of the one of the tilt motor and pan motor. A first controller is in electrical communication with the first encoder. The first controller determines a speed of the one of the tilt motor and pan motor at least in part by correlating a time period between detection of the first edge and detection of the second edge to the speed of the at least one tilt motor and pan motor.

Abstract:
A system and method for monitoring moving objects in a video system. The system includes at least one video camera; and at least one motion detector. The motion detector may include a lens having a field of view fixedly directed to an area of interest, and an imager for receiving an image through the lens and converting the image to video data. The motion detector may be configured to monitor the video data for movement of an object in the field of view and provide a detector output in response to the movement of the object. The detector output may be configured to cause adjustment of at least one operating characteristic of the video camera to target the camera on the object. A motion detector and methods of monitoring a multiplicity of moving objects are also provided.
Video Surveillance System Having Communication Acknowledgement Nod
The present invention provides a system and method for controlling a motor in a video surveillance system including a video camera, a tilt motor operable to move the video camera in a tilt direction, a pan motor operable to move the video camera in a pan direction, and a controller in electrical communication with the tilt and pan motors. The controller assesses an operational condition of the video surveillance system and, if the assessment is successful, actuates at least one of the tilt motor and pan motor to move the video camera along a first predetermined motion pattern. In addition, if the assessment is unsuccessful, the controller actuates at least one of the tilt motor and pan motor to move the video camera along a second predetermined motion pattern.
Method And Apparatus For Video Surveillance System Field Alignment
The present invention provides a video surveillance apparatus and method of operation for a system having at least one predefined setting. A first parameter corresponding to an alignment of a video camera assembly with a visual target is stored. A second parameter corresponding to the alignment of a modified video camera assembly with the visual target is obtained. A difference between the first and second parameters is determined. The difference is applied to at least one of the predefined settings.
Method And System For Video Surveillance System Motor Overcurrent Protection
The present invention provides a video surveillance system, having a video camera; a motor operable to move the video camera; and a processor monitoring a value of a signal provided to the motor, the processor terminating the signal to the motor when the monitored signal value exceeds a predetermined value for a predetermined period of time. A network may be coupled to the processor for communication of the signal termination. The processor may reinitiate a signal transmission to the motor sufficient to maintain a position of the motor after a predetermined period of time, and the processor may monitor the signal transmission and adjust at least one of a zoom setting and focus setting of the video camera based at least in part on the monitored signal.

Abstract:
A dehumidified equipment housing may be used to house equipment including one or more mechanical devices and/or electronic devices. The dehumidified equipment housing may prevent condensation on one or more regions inside of the housing and may control condensation inside of the housing to provide a dehumidified environment inside of the housing. The dehumidified equipment housing may also remove condensed water to outside of the housing.
System And Method For Communicating Data In A Video System
A system and method of controlling a video camera arranged to provide a video signal on a transmission medium including: transmitting command data on the video transmission medium to the camera, and receiving response data from the camera over the video transmission medium during a single vertical blanking period of the video signal, improving controllability of dome type cameras. Using an encoding format with data with bit widths narrower than those conventionally used in UTC protocols, increases the usable transmission medium length for the system by allowing for longer propagation delays without errors caused by interference. A method of downloading data to a camera by disabling the video signal, and a method of self-instantiating camera functions are also provided.
