    7775899, Aug 17, 2010
  • Filed:
    Aug 31, 2009
  • Appl. No.:
    12/584068
  • Inventors:
Thomas Calvin Cannon - La Plata MD, US
  • International Classification:
    A63B 69/36
    F41C 27/00
    G01C 9/28
    G01C 9/24
  • US Classification:
    473226, 473238, 473241, 33334, 33372, 33373, 33379, 33389
  • Abstract:
The present invention helps golfers consistently execute the ideal golf swing. To consistently execute the ideal swing, golfers must consistently align the shafts of their clubs at the ideal angle with respect to the horizontal at setup, prior to executing the swing. The present invention helps golfers set their clubs at the ideal angle by attaching an angle indicating device to the club that indicates the angle of the club with respect to the horizontal. The preferred embodiment of the angle indicating device is a small, lightweight circular bubble level, that has angle markings around its edge, and quickly clips onto an off of the golf club. The angle indicating device is sufficiently small and lightweight that it does not affect the golfers swing. The same device may be used on different golf clubs to show the desired angle for the club in use.
  • Method And Apparatus For Evacuating Re-Sealable Bags

    view source
  • US Patent:
    7818948, Oct 26, 2010
  • Filed:
    Sep 10, 2009
  • Appl. No.:
    12/584656
  • Inventors:
Thomas Calvin Cannon - La Plata MD, US
  • International Classification:
    B65B 31/00
  • US Classification:
    53434, 53 79, 53403, 53410, 53512
  • Abstract:
The present invention is a method and apparatus for quickly, reliably, and inexpensively evacuating air from ordinary re-sealable plastic bags without employing special adapters to interface with vacuum pumps. The system consists of a vacuum pump, an outer re-sealable plastic bag that acts as a flexible vacuum chamber, a vacuum tray that fits inside the outer plastic bag and prevents the outer bag from collapsing onto the vacuum port. Users operate the system by inserting the re-sealable bag to be evacuated inside the outer plastic bag until the seal of the inner bag is in the proper sealing position inside the vacuum tray. The user then seals the outer bag, turns on the vacuum pump and allows the vacuum process to run to completion, during which the re-sealable inner bag is automatically sealed by the device. The user then opens the outer plastic bag and removes the vacuum-packed inner bag.

The United States of America as Represented by the Secretary of the Navy - Washington DC
  • International Classification:
    F42B 12/00
  • US Classification:
    102481
  • Abstract:
A venting cap system includes a first open-ended sleeve and a second open-ended sleeve. The first open-ended sleeve is made from a first material that melts at a selected temperature. The first open-ended sleeve has an internal region commencing at a first end and an externally-threaded region commencing at a second end. The second open-ended sleeve is made from a second material that does not melt at the selected temperature. The second open-ended sleeve is coaxially fitted in the first open-ended sleeve. The second open-ended sleeve includes a first end that is flush with the first end of the first open-ended sleeve. The second open-ended sleeve partially overlaps part of the externally-threaded region. The coefficients of linear expansion of the first material and the second material are about equal.

  • Filed:
    Dec 19, 1974
  • Appl. No.:

  • Inventors:
Thomas Cannon - Chevy Chase MD
Frances G. H. Cannon - Chevy Chase MD
    Jane E. H. Cowan - Potomac MD
    Bernard McCarthy - Clinton MD
  • International Classification:
    E03F 100
  • US Classification:
    210166
  • Abstract:
A drain guard is disclosed having a tubular body with a funnel-shaped portion at its upper end. The tubular body has an annular recess extending about the inside periphery thereof proximate the bottom end of the guard. The recess receives a sealing grommet therein for sealing the space between a tube on which the guard is positioned and the inner periphery of the tubular portion of the guard. Stop lugs are positioned about the inner periphery of the tubular portion of the guard at the junction of the funnel-shaped end portion thereof for limiting the upward movement of the tube on which the guard is positioned through the drain guard. A liquid permeable seat is positioned on the funnel-shaped end portion of the drain to permit the ingress of water or other liquids with respect to the drain guard. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, a rubber grommet is affixed to the inside periphery of the drain guard at the junction of the tubular and funnel shaped portions thereof with the grommet serving to limit the upward movement of the tube on which the guard is positioned and to seal the space between the guard and the tube to inhibit the passage of liquids therebetween.
