Abstract:
A system, apparatus and method of verifying operation of a vehicle fluid brake system shutoff valve is provided, wherein the shutoff valve is adapted to enable or inhibit the transmission of fluid pressure to at least one brake solenoid valve that controls operation of at least one brake actuator so as to effect wheel braking. In verifying operation of the system, the shutoff valve is commanded to inhibit the transmission of fluid pressure to the at least one brake solenoid valve, and the at least one brake solenoid valve is commanded to apply fluid pressure to the at least one brake actuator. An operational status of the shutoff valve is determined based on the absence or presence of wheel braking.

Abstract:
A brake system of a vehicle includes a plurality of electromechanical brake actuators (EBAs) proximate the wheels of the vehicle. Each EBA includes a power device for effectuating braking of an associated wheel, and electronics to generate a drive signal for the power device. The brake system may further include at least one brake control unit (BCU) for converting a brake command signal into a control signal for each EBA. The electronics for each EBA may be configured to convert the corresponding control signal into the drive signal that is applied to the power device to cause movement of the power device and effectuate braking of the vehicle.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for assigning addresses to one or more components, such as luminaires, in a network. In one example the luminaires include one or more lamp sub-modules. An example method sends an address command from a master control unit to all luminaires over a communication broadcast databus, and switches the one or more luminaires to an addressing mode of operation based on the sent address command. A token signal is sent on a second serial databus to the one or more luminaires and address information is sent on the communication databus. The address information is recorded at the one or more luminaires based on the received token signal. Addresses are automatically assigned to the associated lamp sub-modules based on physical location and the recorded address information and assigned lamp sub-module addresses are sent to the master control unit. The sent address information and lamp sub-module addresses are saved.
A wireless synchronization system. The system includes a plurality of nodes. Each node includes a radio frequency (RF) transceiver, one or more strobe lights and a controller in signal communication with the RF transceiver and the one or more strobe lights. The controller controls operation of the one or more strobe lights based on a synchronization message wirelessly received by the RF transceiver and generates and transmits via the RF transceiver a follow-on synchronization message based on the received synchronization message.

Abstract:
LED brightness compensation system and method to account for aging and/or temperature effects on LED brightness. The system includes one or more LEDs and a circuit coupled to the LEDs to maintain substantially constant LED brightness based on determined operating characteristics of the LEDs. The circuit includes an LED brightness controller for controlling the current running through the LEDs and a brightness compensation controller for directing the LED brightness controller to compensate for aging and/or temperature. The method includes: storing adjustment information in a memory unit; energizing one or more LEDs with an electric current; accumulating the operating time; sensing the operating temperature of the LEDs; and adjusting the current supplied to the LEDs based on the stored adjustment information, the accumulated time the LEDs have been energized, and the operating temperature of the LEDs.

Abstract:
A system for electrical braking of a vehicle comprises a power bus coupled to a first driver associated with a first electromechanical actuator (EMA). The power bus is also coupled to a second driver associated with a second EMA, and the first EMA and the second EMA are associated with a wheel of the vehicle. The power bus provides braking power to the first EMA via the first driver and to the second EMA via the second driver. A normal braking command interface provides a first braking signal to the first driver and a second braking signal to the second driver. An emergency/park brake interface bypasses the normal braking command interface and sends a first emergency/park braking signal to the first driver and a second emergency/park braking signal to the second driver. A sensor measures a current at a single location of the power bus that is proportional to a braking force exerted on the wheel.
A novel gas-powered aspirator comprises a venturi chamber for suctioning a vacuum jar incorporating a valve body, movable between two positions, one for directing gas to the venturi chamber, and the other for closing it from the gas supply. The valve body position is determined by the vacuum pressure in the jar.
