The present invention is directed toward a polyvinyl acetal sponge with a smooth outer low durometer silicone skin having less porosity then the foam center. The PVA sponge is washed free of formaldehyde, dried and hydrated and a thin coating of less than 1 mm low durometer silicone is applied to the surface of the sponge and heated at a low temperature ranging from 100Â F. and 150Â F. over 8 to 16 hours to cure the silicone skin bonding it to the sponge increasing the tear strength of the skin while preserving elasticity. The composite wound dressing allows moisture adsorption through the skin into the PVA sponge body but presents an outer surface precluding wound growth into the sponge material.
Polyvinyl Acetal Composition Roller Brush With Abrasive Outer Surface
A semiconductor polishing device having a substantially cylindrical roller body made of polyvinyl acetal with a uniform material porosity having a mean flow pore pressure ranging from about 0. 30 PSI to about 0. 35 PSI with 80% of its pores ranging from 7 to 40 microns in size coated with a low viscosity adhesive composition of an appropriately formulated aliphatic or aromatic difunctional polyether urethane methacrylate or formulated multifunctional allphatic urethane acrylate and abrasive particles to form an adhesive skin of about 1 micron in thickness. The abrasive particles typically have a particle size ranging from about 0. 05 to about 7 microns and a Mohs hardness of at least about 7.
Foam Composition Roller Brush With Embedded Mandrel
The invention is directed toward a chemical mechanical polishing/planarizing (CMP) brush with an embedded mandrel. PVA foam injected into the substantially hollow mandrel expands through apertures in the mandrel to fill a mold in the desired shape of the brush with the foam in the mandrel being integral with the outer foam covering the brush.

A semiconductor cleaning device having a substantially cylindrical roller body made of polyvinyl acetal with a smooth outer surface and uniform material porosity having a mean flow pore pressure ranging from about 0.30 PSI to about 0.35 PSI with 95% of its pores ranging from 7 to 40 microns in size and a wet flow rate ranging from about 80.0 L/min to about 7.0 L/min.

The present invention is directed toward a wound dressing comprising a foam body made of polyvinyl acetal material treated with a plurality of colored biocidal dyes with at least one of the dyes being gram positive and at least one of the dyes being gram negative to dye the body a distinct color. The body has at least one planar surface and ranges from about 1 mm to about 3 mm in thickness and has an outer adhesive section secured to the body. The body when placed in contact with an infected wound site changing color.
A tampon constructed of a foamed plastic polyvinyl acetal material with an outer skin and a less dense inner central portion having a greater large pore and common pore density. The polyvinyl acetal material is impregnated with glycerine in a range of 2% to 20% concentration in a water carrier to present a soft compliant tampon.
