Abstract:
A disc toss game which includes a target box or receiver with a false bottom interposed between the top and bottom edges, with the elevation of the false bottom being positionably adjustable relative to the plane of the top edges of the target box. A standpipe or tube is mounted within the target box coaxially with the center of the square target box. The target box has an outer perimeter defined by chamfered edges, with the plane of the top edge of the open standpipe or tube being positionably adjustable within the target box from an upper position which is coplanar with the edges of the target box, into one or more lower positions in which the top edge of the standpipe is recessed from the plane of the top edges of the target box.

Abstract:
A disc toss game which includes a target box of frusto-conical configuration with a false bottom interposed between the top and bottom edges. An upstanding conical tube is disposed within the target box and is mounted coaxially within the false bottom and coaxially with the target box. The target box has an outer perimeter defined by chamfered edges. The top end of the conical tube is coplanar with the edges of the target box.

Abstract:
A method of boring a plurality of aligned, mating bolt holes in a pair of separated coupling flanges comprising the steps of: a) providing a template with pre-formed holes matching a desired location for bolt holes in the pair of coupling flanges; b) securing the template to a first of the pair of coupling flanges; c) attaching a boring tool to the template in alignment with one of the bolt holes; d) re-boring one of the bolt holes in the first coupling flange and repeating steps c) and d) for each remaining bolt hole individually in succession; e) removing the boring tool and template from the first coupling flange; f) relocating the template on the second of the pair of coupling flanges; and g) repeating steps b) through e) for the bolt holes in the second coupling flange.
Turbine Rotor Wheel With Forged Replacement Dovetail And Method Of Repair

General Electric Co. - Schenectady NY
International Classification:

US Classification:

Abstract:
A repaired turbine rotor wheel includes a rotor wheel body having an outer rim. A forged ring is disposed about the outer rim and welded to the wheel body. A dovetail is formed in the ring, the arcuate weld between the ring and the wheel body being located radially inwardly of the dovetail.

Abstract:
A pump seal is provided for use in a pump suited to move high viscosity and abrasive materials. A piston in the pump has a substantial amount of clearance relative to the cylinders in which it operates with the seal providing substantially the only contact in sealing between the piston and the cylinders. The seal is formed of a relatively soft, elastomeric material which is normally of a plainer, annular shape. Along with a rigid annular ring plate, the elastic ring is sandwiched between the closure member and housing member. The ring plate has a curved surface facing the closure member which serves to backup and support the relatively soft elastic ring under pressure.

Abstract:
A method of repairing a turbine rotor wheel having an annular damaged dovetail includes removing the annular damaged dovetail from the turbine wheel, leaving a wheel body having a rim. A forged ring is welded to the rim and dovetails are formed in the forged ring to accommodate turbine bucket dovetails. The welding process including preheating, welding, and stress-relieving are performed while the rotor under repair is disposed in a lathe for rotation about a horizontal axis. The turbine rotor repair is accomplished from start to finish without displacing the rotor from the lathe.
