Abstract:

A balloon pump includes a cylinder having an outlet end and a piston adapted to reciprocate within the cylinder. One-way outlet and inlet valves are associated with the pump for allowing air to exit the cylinder outlet end only when the piston moves toward the outlet end and enter the cylinder only when the piston reciprocates away from the cylinder outlet end. An elongated piston drive member or base is connected at one end to the piston with the other end extending out of the cylinder at the end opposite the cylinder outlet end. A biasing arrangement acts between the cylinder and the piston to bias the piston away from the outlet end of the cylinder. With the pump positioned vertically and supported on the elongated piston drive member, the biasing arrangement raises the cylinder to perform a return stroke so that the pump may be operated simply by pushing down on the cylinder.

Abstract:

A coupler for a pickup drawbar has a removable stud mounted to the end of the drawbar for engaging an implement hitch. A main bracket is mounted to the drawbar between the stud and the work vehicle. A top strap is pivotally mounted in the main bracket and is pivotal between a position engaging the top of the stud and a position removed therefrom to allow the implement hitch access to and from the stud. The top strap is lockable in its closed position engaging the stud and preferably also in its fully open position laying back against the drawbar. The coupler is readily modifiable for use with various implement hitches simply by replacing the stud and top strap.

Abstract:

An electronic countermeasure (ECM) simulator which fits into the housing of any actual ECM payload device and substitutes electrical components for the chaff, flares or other countermeasures which are emitted into the environment. The ECM payload simulator electrically verifies firing ability for any ECM dispensing system using a magnetic indicator which sets when the electrical signal required to fire an actual ECM payload device operates properly. The magnetic indicator can be viewed, tested and reset by a ground crew upon return of the aircraft to ground. The magnetic indicator has a parallel resistor so that the aircraft's arsenal inventorying device will indicate an unfired ECM payload device. An optional radio frequency (RF) transmitter may be substituted for the magnetic indicator to send coded transmissions to a radar site while in flight. Additionally, an electrical circuit may be added to measure amplitude and duration of the electrical firing signal and to prevent feedback into the ECM dispensing system.

Abstract:

A large round baler includes a net wrapping device mounted to the rear and bottom of the discharge gate of the baler. A spare roll of net material is stored above an active roll of net material which rests upon and is caused to be rotated by the upper roll of a pair of net material feed rolls. The rolls of material are wider than the baling chamber of the baler and net spreader rolls, including both raised spirals and spiral grooves, are provided along the net feed path so that the net is at its full width when it arrives at the inlet to the bale chamber which is located at a lower bale-forming belt support roll extending between opposite sidewalls of the gate at the lower front of the gate. A pair of guide plates are mounted to the insides of the bale chamber sidewalls and extend about an upper portion of the circumference of a net spreader rolls located at the opposite ends of the belt support roll. These guide plates are shaped and positioned such that they perform the functions of creating a space between the bale end and the side wall for receiving marginal portions of the net, defining together with the side walls, a channel which leads from the net spreader rolls to the space created for receiving the net, rounding the end edges of the bale for better reception of the marginal portions of the net and deflecting crop material away from the spirals of the net spreader rolls so as to prevent them from wrapping with crop which would interfere with the feeding of the marginal portions of the net to be placed over the edges or corners at the opposite ends of the bale.

A method of electrically testing an electrical component containing a plurality of networks with at least one node. The method uses segmented, charge limiting testing to charge the nodes and detect shorted or disconnected nodes while preventing accumulated charges in the networks from making uncharged nodes appear charged. The method is well suited for voltage contrast electron beam testing of unpopulated high density multichip modules and interconnect substrates.
