  • Ridge Tile Or Solar Panel Attachment System For A Roof

    view source
  • US Patent:
    8615954, Dec 31, 2013
  • Filed:
    Jan 30, 2012
  • Appl. No.:
    13/361692
  • Inventors:
Timothy Michael Graboski - Pompano Beach FL, US
  • International Classification:
    E04B 2/08
    E04B 2/00
    E04B 9/00
    E04F 13/04
  • US Classification:
    525891, 525902, 52443
  • Abstract:
An improved solar panel attachment system for a roof and method for its use include a pedestal that has a plurality of protrusions and keyways located along its bottom wall surface and extending along the length of the pedestal. The pedestal is placed into a paddy of foam adhesive laid along a roof underlayment and the keyways receive and engage with the expanding adhesive for bonding the pedestal directly to the roof without the need for mechanical fastening. The protrusions provide spacing between the bottom wall surface and the roof so that an adequate amount of foam adhesive resides between these wall surfaces and those structures. Attaching means are secured to the top wall surface so that the pedestal may be used to securely mount (or secure) a solar panel or other object to a roof.
  • Solar Hot Water And Recovery System

    view source
  • US Patent:
    20120125321, May 24, 2012
  • Filed:
    Dec 5, 2011
  • Appl. No.:
    13/311054
  • Inventors:
Timothy Michael Graboski - Pompano Beach FL, US
  • International Classification:
    F24J 2/30
    F24J 2/00
  • US Classification:
    126643, 126714
  • Abstract:
A solar hot water and recovery system includes a water loop, a refrigerant loop and a solar loop. Cross-heat exchange occurs in a first heat exchanger between the heat transfer mediums of the refrigerant loop and the solar loop to produce a super-heated fluid stream which is returned to the air conditioning or heat pump unit. Cross-heat exchange also takes place in a second heat exchanger between the now-lower temperature heat transfer medium of the solar loop and the water loop to produce a heated water stream. The main objective of the system is to superheat refrigerant and use all excess heat for heating the water. The heat exchangers are preferably housed in the same heat recovery unit and arranged so that the refrigerant heat exchange area is before the water heat exchange area, thereby maximizing solar potential.

    B61D 17/14
    E04B 7/00
    E04B 7/02
    E04H 12/28
  • US Classification:
    52 41, 52 43, 52 57, 52 901, 52198
  • Abstract:
An improved roof ridge apparatus and method for its use includes a longitudinally extending rigid member that has a plurality of keyways located along its top and bottom wall surfaces and extending along the length of the rigid member. The rigid member is placed into a continuous paddy of foam adhesive laid along a roof underlayment and the keyways receive and engage with the expanding adhesive for bonding the rigid member directly to the roof without the need for mechanical fastening. The keyways protrude from the top and bottom wall surfaces. The protrusions provide spacing between the bottom wall surface and the roof and between the top wall surface and a roof tile so that an adequate amount of foam adhesive resides between these wall surfaces and those structures.
  • Roof-Mounted Equipment Attachment System

  • US Patent:
    20210102658, Apr 8, 2021
  • Filed:
    Oct 3, 2019
  • Appl. No.:
    16/592472
  • Inventors:
Timothy Michael Graboski - Deerfield Beach FL, US
  • International Classification:
    F16M 13/02
    E04D 13/00
  • Abstract:
An attachment system for roof-mounted equipment of this disclosure includes a pedestal having rails and corresponding channels at a top and bottom wall surface, the rails and channels located below the bottom wall surface configured to receive an adhesive for mounting the pedestal to a roof structure without penetrating the roof, the rails and channels located below the top wall surface including at least one channel configured to accept a fastener of the piece of equipment to be mounted on the pedestal.

    F24D 11/00
    F24J 2/34
  • Abstract:
A system of capturing waste heat includes a heat recovery unit () having a heat exchanger () arranged to transfer heat between a fluid circulating in a refrigerant loop () and a fluid circulating in a solar loop () and another heat exchanger () arranged to transfer heat between the fluid in the solar loop () and a fluid circulating in a water loop (). Controllable first, second, and third three-way valves (V-V) provide or prevent, depending on fluid temperatures, an A-B, B-C, and A-C flow path through the valve. The first valve (V) is arranged in the water loop () upstream of the second heat exchanger (). The second (V) is arranged in the solar loop () upstream of the second heat exchanger (). The third valve (V) is arranged in the solar loop () between the first and second heat exchangers ().
