An Integrated Security Administrator (ISA) for managing an Informational Network (IN) includes a plurality of monitoring agents, wherein at least one of the plurality of monitoring agents is configured to obtain a plurality of events from a plurality of monitored elements, reduce the plurality of events to obtain a reduced plurality of events, select an event from the reduced plurality of events, characterize the event using stored knowledge, and respond to the event at a response level, and a core system configured to update data and instructions stored on the at least one of the plurality of monitoring agents.

A method for authenticating a user involves receiving a request from the user to access a resource, where the resource is associated with at least one authentication requirement, determining a trust level associated with access to the resource, obtaining user credentials based on the trust level associated with the resource, selecting an authentication method for authenticating the user based on the trust level associated with the resource, generating user authentication information based on the trust level associated with the resource and the user credentials obtained, where user authentication information relates to the user's environment while accessing the resource, sending the user authentication information to the resource, and granting access to the resource, if the user authentication information meets the at least one authentication requirement of the resource.

Abstract:

A method for transferring data from an unmanned offshore energy platform to a manned offshore energy platform. The method includes obtaining the data on the unmanned offshore energy platform from a monitoring device, wherein the monitoring device is configured to monitor at least one environmental condition surrounding the unmanned offshore energy platform. The method further includes formatting the data for transmission. In addition, the method includes wirelessly transmitting the data from the unmanned offshore energy platform to the manned offshore energy platform.
