Abstract:

Cover slips having improved non-stick properties are provided and a method for making such cover slips is described. In one aspect the use of water-based, colloidal alkylpoly(alkoxy)silanes of formula [(R)Si(OR), where x=1-3, Ris a C-Chydrocarbon (preferably an alkyl hydrocarbon) and Ris a C-Chydrocarbon (preferably a Chydrocarbon)] having a particle size in the range of 6-20 nm is described.
