Abstract:

An apparatus for applying pressure to a body part comprising: a first sleeve comprising a multiplicity of pressure-applying resilient protrusions configured to apply a therapeutic pressure to a surface of the body part of a patient; and a second sleeve slidably received over the first sleeve, the second sleeve configured to apply a pressure to the first sleeve, thereby increasing the therapeutic pressure applied by the first sleeve on the limb.

Abstract:

This invention is an apparatus for treating lymphedema having a sleeve with inwardly projecting-elastomeric fingers and externally fitted pressure adjusting circular bands. When the sleeve is fitted to a patient's limb, the fingers impose a grid pattern of pressure points against skin of swollen limb. Space around and between the pressure points provide channels under the skin through which lymphatic fluids are able to migrate up the arm to the shoulder where healthy nodes process it and channel it to the large veins. Similar applications are applied to other limbs, hands, and feet with sleeves, and to the shoulder, chest wall, and back with vests.

Devices, systems, and methods for medication infusion are described herein. In some embodiments, a system includes a patient access subassembly, a first fluid reservoir, a second fluid reservoir, and an assembly. The assembly can have a first configuration in which the patient access subassembly is in fluid communication with the first fluid reservoir via a first tube, a second configuration in which the first fluid reservoir is in fluid communication with the second fluid reservoir, and a third configuration in which the first fluid reservoir is in fluid communication with the patient access subassembly via a second tube, the first fluid reservoir fluidically isolated from the first tube in the third configuration.

Abstract:

The invention provides for a recombinant adenoviral vector comprising a recombinant oncolytic adenovirus which has: (1) a modified transcription regulatory sequence wherein the adenoviral vector is transcriptionally active in cancer cells and/or hyperproliferative cells and transcriptionally attenuated in normal cells, and (2) a transgene encoding one or more cancer antigens that are specific to a subject. The invention further provides a method of producing said recombinant adenoviral vector. The recombinant oncolytic adenoviral vector described above is used in methods of stimulating a heightened immune response against a cancer antigen in a subject or a method of treating cancer in a subject.
