Abstract:

A method for reclaiming hydraulically dredged material from a dredge reclamation area (DRA) having particular application for reclaiming hydraulically dredged virgin/new cut earthen material. The method involves the construction of training dikes and weirs in the DRA for draining water from saturated silts within the DRA and drying clay in the DRA in either a separate processing area or within the confines of the DRA by windrowing and by mechanical manipulation of the clay. The silts are then dried in the same way and mixed with the dried clay, either in a separate processing area or within the DRA. The resulting reclaimed material can meet industry standard density tests of 95% standard Proctor along with removing the moisture content to a 2% of optimum moisture or better for use as structural or regular fill.

Abstract:

A composition for treating dry skin includes therapeutically active concentrations of one or more skin protecting lipids in an oleaginous base. The skin protecting lipids can include a sphingolipid and at least one oil. The composition is intended for application on the skin surrounding the eyes. The composition is configured to form a protective, occlusive layer that can moisturize the skin and reduce inflammation and itching without stinging, burning, or stripping the skin. According to an exemplary embodiment, the composition is formulated as a high viscosity ointment or gel.

A topical skin moisturizing composition comprising: (a) one or more phospholipids; (b) a plurality of demulcents; (c) one or more polymeric moisturizing agents; (d) one or more preservatives; (e) one or more vitamins; and (f) an aqueous vehicle. An anti-allergenic product consists of: (A) a substrate; and (B) an eyelid cleansing composition comprising: at least 0.01% w/w of a plant extract, wherein the plant extract is selected from the group consisting of leaf extract, leaf oil, and mixtures thereof; and phytosphingosine hydrochloride. Abstract:

A disinfecting conveyor system utilizes ultraviolet light to disinfect a product as it passes through an enclosure on a conveyor. A UV light sensor provides feedback to a control system that can change the amount of UV light exposure, speed of conveyor, and disinfection reaction. A UV light sensor may be a coupled to the conveyor and the UV light intensity and time of exposure within the enclosure may be used to calculate a UV light dose. A user of the system may input a required UV light dose or the type of product to be disinfected and the control system may automatically control the speed of the conveyor and/or the UV light intensity to provide the required UV dose. The system may utilize an air filtration and/or cooling system to provide a flow of clean and cool process air to the enclosure to maintain a temperature that is below a threshold temperature.

Abstract:

Compositions and methods for treating skin redness. According to an embodiment, the invention is a topical skin care composition having a dermatologically acceptable vehicle, such as, water and a plurality of ingredients dissolved in the vehicle. The ingredients include: a blend of natural oils; a plurality of vitamins; and 0.1-1 wt % salicyloyl phytosphingosine. The composition is unsuitable for application on the eyelids or eye area. The blend of natural oils includes: leaf juice extract; (coconut oil); hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans; and caprylic/capric triglycerides. The plurality of vitamins is selected from a group consisting of vitamin C, vitamin E, salts/derivatives of vitamin C and vitamin E, and mixtures thereof. In one aspect, the plurality of vitamins includes: sodium ascorbyl phosphate; disodium lauriminodipropionate tocopheryl phosphate; and jojoba oil.

A cooling bed system is configured to provide a cooling airflow around a patient suffering from heat exhaustion, heat stroke and or burns. Abstract:

The invention involves forceps having rounded grasping tips. The rounded tips are configured to avoid puncturing an amniotic membrane during insertion over an ocular surface for the treatment of dry eye disease and inflammation of the eyes and to avoid injuring the conjunctiva during removal of an amniotic membrane from the ocular surface.
