A user wearable accessory provides push-to-tall (PTT), microphone and adjustable electrical cord length features in a single device. First and second adjustable electrical cords couple a portable communication device to an earpiece. The accessory is formed of front and back housing portions coupled together to provide a spooling feature therebetween. The spooling feature accommodates the two electrical cords such that a user is able to wrap each cord to provide an overall desired length. Users of different heights can adjust the cord length as desired thereby minimizing tangling of the cords.

Abstract:
A charger provides a user selectable interface which allows a battery operated portable communication device to be charged in either face-up or face-down positions. Both single-unit charger and multi-unit charger embodiments are provided. A dual contact scheme allows for the user to select either the face-up or face-down configuration. The face-down configuration accommodates battery powered portable communication devices having accessories as well as radio back housings of varying thickness. Additional storage bins are configured within the charging systems to further improve organization of multiple accessories. Magnetic coupling is also provided to facilitate organization of two or more single-unit chargers.

Abstract:
A locking mechanism for a communication device () is provided by an access cover () having a simple user interface with rugged features that prevent the access door from detaching if the device is dropped. The access cover () includes a latch () movable vertically in up and down positions () in combination with a slideable lock () movable horizontally in side to side positions, one of the side positions preventing up and down movement of the latch. A single lock icon () is disposed across the latch () and slideable lock () such that an unlocked position () is indicated when the latch moves up and down (), and a locked position () is indicated when the slideable lock () is slid to the side position that prevents up and down movement of the latch.
