During the past several years, I have been preparing myself for a teaching position while finishing my Masters in Education at Grand Canyon University. I just finished a student teaching internship with the North Hills School District, where I successfully taught Honors Biology at the secondary level. I am certified in General Science as well. I plan on adding a Chemistry certification over the next few months. Science has been my passion for as long as I can remember and my ultimate career goal has been to obtain a General Science or Biology teaching position. Teaching is my second career. My first career was as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist for over ten years. It was a job that I enjoyed but I always felt most at home when teaching / training those who were new to the profession. My friends and family were not surprised when I changed career paths leaving the medical field for a new career in education. An on-going education is something I value more than anything. I know I will be a lifetime learner. Starting a new career where I will have the opportunity to instill in my students the passion for learning is priceless to me.
