Technical Skills 2+ years' experience using various computer aided drafting (CAD) programs including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Google Sketchup, and LibreCAD used to design and build 2D/3D models for testing, prototyping, and functional appearance; as well as basic experience with ANSYS 2+ years' experience interpreting and drafting mechanical drawings in accordance to ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles as well as P&ID drawings 2+ years' academic experience conducting energy related analysis involving compressors, boilers, turbines, heat exchangers, radiation, conduction, and convection heat transfer, compressible flow, power cycles, refrigeration, psychrometry, HVAC, and combustion reactions; as well as familiarity with finite element heat transfer (FEHT), thermal FEA (SolidWorks Simulation), and HVAC analysis (Energy Plus 7.2) software 1.5+ years' academic experience conducting design related analysis involving gears, shafts, beams, stress/strain relationships, deflection and stiffness, natural frequencies, and failure analysis as well as determining mathematical models for oscillating systems 6+ months hands-on machine shop experience involving metal lathes, cnc mills, shopbot (wood router), waterjet cutting, laser cutting, cold saws, drill presses, miter/circular saws, dremel, taps/dies, and work holding 6+ months experience with various computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software packages including Cut3D, VCarve Pro, FlowPath, and FlowCut Experience working with aluminums, steels, woods, and plastics 7+ years' experience with PC building, air and water cooling, hardware monitoring and troubleshooting, benchmarking, and overclock stability testing 7+ years' experience with Windows Operating Systems (98, XP, and Vista/7), Linux (Ubuntu), and virtualization software (VirtualBox) 1+ years' experience programming microcontrollers (Arduino/Atmel) used to interface with various components including rangefinders, temperature probes, flex sensors, and 16x2 LCDs as well as constructing basic analog circuits using transistors, 555, and 386 ICs 3+ years' experience using and calibrating various measurement devices including strobotachometers, load cells, thermocouples, DMMs, oscilloscopes, calipers, strain gauges, Tinius Olsen Testing Machine, anemometers, and flow meters 2+ years' experience in experimental/technical report, project, and research writing using Microsoft Office as well as establishing project scopes, material requisitioning, design requirements, schedules, and cost estimates
