Abstract:

A user interface system simplifies management of a clustered storage system by a user or system administrator. The user interface system comprises a Command Line Interface (CLI) and/or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that supports virtual ports associated with a single physical port and multi-mode operation of ports in the clustered storage system. Management of the clustered storage system is further simplified through the use of a novel command set used to, inter-alia, set a cluster mode and set a USE_PARTNER attribute of an initiator group (igroup).

A logical unit number (LUN) cloning technique separates data blocks referenced by a writable virtual disk (vdisk) from data blocks referenced only by a backing store to conserve storage resources of a storage system. The LUN cloning technique separates the writable vdisk data blocks from the backing store during periods of reduced processing activity and in a manner that does not interfere with storage service provided by the system.

Abstract:

A polarization-modulation scanning laser microscope includes a conventional laser scanning microscope, which has been improved by addition of: a polarization state generator; a polarization state analyzer; a photo-detector for receiving laser light transmitted though a sample; a signal demodulator providing two signals in response to the transmitted laser light, one of the signals being indicative of polarization orientation, and the other signal being indicative of magnitude of the transmitted polarized light. A relay interface toggles between the two signals provided by the signal demodulator and at least one other signal provided either by the photodiode of the laser scanning microscope, or by an external optical beam induced current, or both. A signal processing unit provides an image output to a display device.

A cloud security system and method implements cloud activity threat detection using analysis of cloud usage user behavior. In particular, the cloud security system and method implements threat detection for users, cloud service providers, or tenants (enterprises) of the cloud security system who are new or unknown to the cloud security system and therefore lacking sufficient cloud activity data to generate an accurate behavior model for effective threat detection. In accordance with embodiments of the present invention, the cloud security system and method performs user behavior analysis to generate generalized user behavior models for user groups, where each user group includes users with similar cloud usage behavior. The user behavior models of the user groups are assigned to users with sparse cloud activity data. In this manner, the cloud security system and method of the present invention ensures effective threat detection by using accurate and reliable user behavior models.
