Abstract:

A traction battery venting system includes, among other things, an engine exhaust system that discharges engine exhaust gas to an area outside an electrified vehicle. The engine exhaust gas is emitted from an internal combustion engine of the electrified vehicle. The system further includes a sound deadening device of the engine exhaust system, a traction battery, and a battery vent system that communicates battery vent byproducts to the engine exhaust system at a position that is downstream from the sound deadening device. The battery vent byproducts are emitted from the traction battery of the electrified vehicle.

Abstract:

Methods and systems are provided for adjusting a position of an exhaust valve that regulates engine exhaust noise. In one example, the position of the exhaust valve is adjusted according to a distance between a first vehicle and a second vehicle. The exhaust valve may be adjusted to reduce an exhaust noise level when the distance between the first vehicle and the second vehicle is less than a threshold distance.

Abstract:

Systems and methods to perform traffic signal management for operation of autonomous vehicles involve obtaining vehicle data from two or more vehicles at an intersection with one or more traffic lights. The vehicle data includes vehicle location, vehicle speed, and image information or images. A method includes determining at least one of three types of information about the one or more traffic lights based on the vehicle data. The three types of information include a location of the one or more traffic lights, a signal phase and timing (SPaT) of the one or more traffic lights, and a lane correspondence of the one or more traffic lights. The method also includes providing the at least one of the three types of information about the one or more traffic lights for the operation of autonomous vehicles.

Abstract:

A composition and system for delivering a therapeutic agent is provided. The composition includes a self-assembling peptide ionically cross-linked with a charged therapeutic agent. In the presence of the charged therapeutic agent, the peptide self-assembles to form a nanofibrous hydrogel scaffold, wherein the hydrogel structure is quickly recoverable following a shear stress thereby permitting administration of the composition by syringe-needle or catheter injection. Methods of using the composition is also provided.

Typically, layers of collagen are stretched during a curing period and optionally coated or impregnated with an elastin like protein.
