Abstract:

An improved pilot stage includes a flapper having first and second ends, first and second nozzles in fluid communication with the first and second ends, and a magnetic torque motor having a first coil which is magnetically coupled to the first end of the flapper. An input current to the first coil creates a magnetic torque on the flapper, causing the flapper to pivot. The torque input from the magnetic circuit is reflected through the pivot to create a balancing differential pressure output at the nozzles proportional to the input electrical signal. The flapper does not require a torsion bar (or tube) pivot or a separate armature, as required by functionally similar pilot stages.

Abstract:

An electrohydraulic valve pilot stage for controlling differential pressure is disclosed. The electrohydraulic valve pilot stage has a housing for protecting the valve; a first and second inlet capable of connection to fluid supplies; a first nozzle and a second nozzle fluidly connected to the inlets; a baseplate attached to the housing and the nozzles; a restraining member attached to the baseplate at a position between the first nozzle and the second nozzle; a pivot pin; a flapper restrained by the restraining member and having a first end and a second end, the flapper pivotably mounted on the pivot pin; and a null adjust pin mounted in a pivot pin contact capable position for adjusting the position of the ends of the flapper relative to the nozzles.

Abstract:

In one aspect, a steam humidifier is disclosed. The steam humidifier includes a tank for containing water to be heated to generate steam and a water connection manifold that has a manifold chamber in fluid communication with a water supply passage and a water drain passage. The steam humidifier further includes a rotary valve that is configured to control a fluid passage between the tank and the manifold chamber and that is further configured to control the position of one or more locking features. The rotary valve is rotatable between a first locked position and a second unlocked position. In the first locked position, the fluid passage between the tank and the manifold chamber is open and the one or more locking features are engaged with a structure of the steam humidifier. In the second unlocked position, the fluid passage between the tank and the manifold chamber is closed and the one or more locking features are disengaged from the structure of the steam humidifier. Abstract:

A humidifier for direct low pressure injection of steam into a duct. A source of steam is provided, and a steam tube is in fluid communication with the source of steam. A distal end segment of the steam tube is inclined with respect to the horizontal when the system is mounted to a duct to cause condensation within the steam tube to drain back to the source of steam under the force of gravity. The distal end of the steam tube includes an opening having a lip on an inside surface of the opening, where the lip directs condensation formed at the opening to flow back into the steam tube and back to the source of steam.

The steam humidifier also includes a steam tube for transmitting steam from the tank to a duct, the steam tube having a plurality of locking tabs adjacent to an end and a flange adjacent to, but separated by a distance from, the locking tabs. The steam tube is assembled to the steam tube receiver by inserting the steam tube through the opening in the steam tube receiver structure and rotating the steam tube to cause the locking tabs to engage with the ramp structures.

Abstract:

A steam humidifier having a water tank with a quick assembly feature. The steam humidifier includes a removable tank, where the removable tank is configured to contain water to be heated to generate steam and a handle that is configured to selectively secure the removable tank to the humidifier. The handle defines at least a first rotational position in which a tank support feature on the tank is engaged with a handle support feature on the handle such that the tank is attached to the humidifier. The handle further defines at least a second rotational position in which the tank support feature is disengaged from the handle support feature such that the tank is unattached from the humidifier. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract:

An apparatus and method for securing a screed plate to a frame member of a screed assembly is disclosed. A leading edge portion of the screed plate is secured to the frame member by a number of fastening assemblies each of which includes an upper fastening block, a lower fastening block, and a bolt. The upper fastening block is welded to the frame member, whereas the lower fastening block is welded to the screed plate. Rotation of the bolt causes the fastening blocks, and hence the frame member and the screed plate, to be secured to one another. The bolt is disposed at an angle relative the screed plate thereby allowing access thereto from a rear portion of the screed assembly. Such a configuration allows the screed plate to be exchanged without the need to remove the screed assembly from the tractor associated with the paver. Such a configuration further allows the screed plate to be exchanged without the need to remove a number of deflector plates associated with the screed assembly.
