Abstract:

An appurtenance may be lockably secured to a decoratable wall by the disclosed device. The decoratable wall includes a decoratable panel with a resilient edge, at least one spline with a plurality of slots therein, and a frame supporting the panel and spline. The device includes a bracket to which the appurtenance may be attached having at least one hook member for removable insertion into a first slot in the spline, and a safety lock carried by and movable with respect thereto into engagement with a second slot of the same spline. The safety lock ensures the hook member may not be disengaged from the spline while the safety lock is engaged with the second slot.

Abstract:

A free-standing, prefabricated, knock down, readily assembled and disassembled, relocatable vertical wall or space divider. Such wall dividers are useful for partitioning buildings and/or office complexes. The wall is made up of a plurality of individualized and decorative flush panel units which are interchangeable and which are adapted to be readily inserted within quadrilateral openings delineated by a novel wall frame and locked into place by hidden spline members that are mounted in the wall frame for translatory movement. The wall frame is fabricated in a novel assemblage of unique components which can present either a metallic or wooden exterior finish surface. The configuration of the wall frame components provides for lateral walls to extend outwardly not only at modular locations but also from any other desired location by use of novel adapters. The panels may be removed, redecorated and replaced as needed. Shelving or other appurtenances are attachable to the hidden spline members.

Abstract:

A wall panel module or unit insertable in edge abutment with like modules in an outer rectangular frame forming a free-standing partition wall and the like. The panel has a rectangular frame with outwardly open side channels for containing vertical splines which are movably mounted in the top and bottom of the outer frame. The splines are positioned between the side of one panel and the abutting outer frame member and between the sides of abutting panels. The splines are accessible at the butt joints for moving the splines laterally of the panels to allow removal and replacement thereof, and positioning means in the channels releasably holds the splines medially of the butt joints.
