Abstract:

Techniques for enhanced linguistic transformation are disclosed. For example, a method of linguistic transformation includes the steps of providing at least one input to a plurality of modules, wherein at least one module has a different configuration than at least another module, obtaining at least one output from each of at least a subset of the plurality of modules, and generating a set of distinct outputs. The input and the output include linguistic representations and at least a portion of the output is a result of applying one or more linguistic transformations to at least a portion of the input. Techniques for displaying a plurality of results so as to emphasize component-level differences are also disclosed. By way of example, a method of displaying a plurality of results includes the steps of determining at least one primary result within the plurality of results; displaying the at least one primary result with at least a first set of color attributes; and displaying at least one alternative result with at least a second set of color attributes. Each result represents an application of at least one linguistic transformation to a common input and each result comprises a plurality of components.

Abstract:

A system and method for speech-to-speech translation using a translation system includes designating separate input channels for each of a plurality of speakers. In response to speech from a first channel in a first language, the speech from the first channel is translated to a second language, and in response to speech from the second channel in a second language, the speech from the second channel is translated to the first language. Translating the speech from the first channel and translating the speech from the second channel are performed concurrently.

Abstract:

A system and method for automatic user training in speech-to-speech translation includes integrating an automatic user response system configured to be responsive to a plurality of training items and selecting a training item from the plurality of training items. For the selected training item, in response to an utterance in a first language, the utterance is translated into a second language, and a response to the utterance in the second language is generated. A simulated action corresponding with the response in accordance with a user speaking the second language is also generated. The response and simulated action are output as a learning exercise for learning operations of the automatic user response system.

Techniques for adapting a virtual keyboard for multilingual input are disclosed. By way of example, a method of adapting a virtual keyboard for multilingual input includes the steps of detecting an input language and displaying a virtual keyboard corresponding to the input language upon detection of the input language. The identifying step may include automatic identification of an input language, such as by one or more language recognition modules, or it may include manual selection of an input language and activation of at least one language recognition module operative to recognize at least the input language upon selection of the input language.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for forming three-dimensional patterns by depositing a crystalloid material onto substrate in a layer by layer fashion. The apparatus includes a computer responsive for controlling the material depositing rate and the three-dimensional relative movement between the depositing head and the substrate. The controlling information comes from the sliced CAD model of the part. For each cross-section, the depositing head plots the boundary and the interior while the building material comes out of the head. The crystalloid material deposited on the substrate or previous layer of the part rapidly freezes forming a new layer of the part. The material can be deposited by a continuous extruding device or a drop-on-demand device. Where necessary, support structure is built in the same way but with material of a different melting point. The ambient temperature is accurately controlled to a certain low point in order to make the deposited material flow to a certain extent and freeze after a short time.

In one or more embodiments, a base unit of a wearable device for continuous analyte monitoring may include sensor memory circuitry and a sensor assembly.
