Abstract:

A clamp system is provided for clamping one tubular to another, such as control lines to a marine choke and kill riser line. The riser clamp comprises a saddle and U-bolt arrangement. The upper surface of the saddle defines a track configured to receive a shoe attached to either the control line clamp or an extension leg attached to the control line clamp. The control line clamp comprises an upper clamp half, a lower clamp half, a hinge pin connecting the halves, a fastener latching the halves, and a support leg having a shoe for receipt by either the saddle structure or the extension leg. The control line clamp preferably contains an elastomeric liner. The elastomeric liner is preferably provided in two halves. The inner surface of each liner half preferably is provided with a non-skid layer to more firmly position the control line.

Abstract:

A clamp assembly is provided for clamping one tubular to another, such as a control line to a marine choke and kill riser line. The clamp assembly comprises an upper clamp half, a lower clamp half, a hinge pin connecting the halves, and a fastener latching the halves. The fastener comprises a bolt carried by a rotatable pivot pin mounted in the lower clamp half. Slots are provided in the upper clamp half and the lower clamp half so that the bolt can swing in and out of engagement with the clamp halves to permit the assembly to be opened for mounting the tubular, and then closed and locked by tightening the bolt to retain the tubular in the clamp assembly. Loose parts are thereby avoided.

Methods and apparatus for providing statistics on the number, distribution and/or flow of people or devices in a geographic region based on active wireless device counts are described. Wireless devices may be of different types e. g. , cell phones, PDAs, etc. Wireless communications centers report the number and type of active devices in the geographic region serviced by the wireless communications center and/or indicate the number of devices entering/leaving the serviced region. The active wireless device information is correlated to one or more targeted geographical areas. Population counts are extrapolated from the device information for the targeted geographic areas. Traffic and/or flow information is generated from changes in the device counts or population estimates over time and/or from information on the number of active devices entering/leaving a region. Reports may include predictions of crowd population characteristics based on information about the types and/or number of different wireless devices being used.

Abstract:

A clamp with liner and mounting base are provided for the attachment of control lines to a subsea riser. The clamp comprises an upper clamp half and a lower clamp half. Each clamp half is hingedly connected along a hinge edge of each clamp half to the other clamp half and latchably connected along a latch edge of each clamp half to the other clamp half by latch structure carried by each clamp half. The latch structure carried by the upper clamp half comprises a pair of parallel ears protruding transversely away from the latch edge of the upper clamp half and defining a pair of aligned boreholes, a pivot pin having a transverse borehole carried by the aligned boreholes through the ears, a bolt carried in the transverse borehole through the pivot pin, and a toggle bar having a threaded transverse borehole therethrough threadably mounted on the bolt. The latch structure carried by the lower clamp half comprises a pair of parallel ears protruding transversely from the latch edge of the lower clamp half and defining a pair of saddles facing away from the upper clamp half and contoured for close receipt of the toggle bar. Each clamp half has an inner surface defining a laterally bounded depression for receiving and locating a liner element having a portion shaped to fit the depression.

Abstract:

PSTN functionality is enhanced by the addition of an external service bridging device (ESBD) between one or more devices, e. g. , signal switching points (SSPs), and a service control point (SCP). The ESBD serves as a coupling device to one or more control devices, e. g. , other SCPs or IP servers, in addition to the SCP. To support the passing of messages between the SS7 network and the control devices, the ESBD includes message reformatting capabilities. The ESBD monitors for messages directed to SCPs and/or replies to messages directed to an SCP. In response to detecting a message the ESBD checks to determine if the detected message is to be processed or simply forwarded to the SCP. Messages to be processed are intercepted, duplicated, modified, replaced, broadcast, redirected, etc. Replies to broadcast query messages are detected and processed so that a single reply, in the format of an SCP response, is returned.
