Abstract:

An upgradable television, in accordance with the present invention, includes a plurality of modules for providing operating functions for the upgradable television, each module capable of identifying itself to a processor. The processor is coupled to each of the modules. The processor is for recognizing changes in the modules in accordance with the identification of the modules. A receiver is operatively connected to the processor for receiving information for upgrading the upgradable television in accordance with new modules introduced into the upgradable television. A method for upgrading is also described.

Abstract:

When generating a model of physiological systems in a patient, differential equations representing parameters and variables in the systems are linked together to form one or more sub-models (e. g. , one for each physiological system), which in turn are linked together to form the patient model. Simulations of hypothetical clinical situations are then run on the model to solve for the variables, and the solutions are output as decision support data for review by a clinician to facilitate a determination of a treatment of diagnosis for the patient. Additionally, model predictions can be compared to actual measurements, when available, and the model can be refined or optimized as a function of the comparison.

An update message from a first group of one or more clinical devices () is received over a communications network (). The update message includes patient data and identifies a computer interpretable guideline (CIG) instance corresponding to a patient of the patient data. Abstract:

Disclosed techniques relate to identifying subjects in digital images. In some embodiments, intake digital images () are acquired () that capture a first subject. A subset of the intake digital images is selected () that depict multiple different views of the first subject's face. Based on the selected subset of intake digital images, first subject reference templates are generated and stored in a subject database (). Later, a second subject is selected () for identification within an area. Associated second subject reference templates are retrieved () from the subject reference database. Digital image(s) () that depict the area are acquired (). Portion(s) of the digital image(s) that depict faces of subject(s) in the area are detected () as detected face image(s).
