Abstract:

A modulating valve for railroad car brake cylinders to adapt them for operation with composition brake shoes, in the form of an assembly comprising a bracket plate shaped for mounting between the brake cylinder pipe flange type fitting that connects the brake cylinder pipe to the brake cylinder and the cylinder head, and that is arranged for a three point securement to the cylinder head, and a modulating valve mounted on the bracket plate and in communication with the brake cylinder pipe and brake cylinder to limit the fluid pressures supplied to the brake cylinder so that composition brake shoes will deliver the proper brake applying force to the truck wheels without interferring with proper operation of existing brake control equipment. This invention relates to a modulating valve assembly for use with railroad car pneumatic brake equipment, and more particularly, to a modulating valve assembly for application to the car brake cylinder to adapt the brake cylinder to deliver the amount of brake applying force to the truck wheels that is proper for the modern composition brake shoes. The now familiar composition type brake shoe has a much higher coefficient of friction than the older type cast iron shoes, and when applied to the car truck wheels requires a significantly less shoe applying pressure than required for cast iron shoes to effect the same degree of braking on the car wheels.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for guided vehicle matching are disclosed. In order to generate vehicle recommendations for a user of an electronic vehicle listing service, a plurality of vehicle-related lifestyle options are presented to the user, and a user selection received. Additional data regarding the user's vehicle preferences, requirements, or usage may be obtained. Based upon such information, a set of example vehicles is generated and presented to the user. Each example vehicle has characteristics representing a plurality of other vehicles. Based upon user ratings or selections of at least some of the example vehicles, a plurality of vehicle recommendations for specific available vehicles are generated and presented to the user. In some embodiments, further user interaction with such recommendations is used to refine the vehicle recommendations and identify additional vehicle recommendations.

Disclosed are systems and methods for generating and offering to customers rewards in exchange for the customer's continued presence in a retail environment. An example rewards system may receive, from a detection system, a notification that a computing device associated with the customer is in a retail environment and, in response, transmit an offer to the computing device that offers the customer a reward in exchange for remaining in the retail environment for at least a predetermined amount of time. The rewards system may receive, from the detection system, real-time data indicating a behavior of the customer in the retail environment, and, from a third-party server, non-real-time data associated with the customer. The rewards system may generate the reward based on the real-time data and the non-real-time data. After the predetermined amount of time, the rewards system may transmit the reward to the computing device.
