Abstract:

In one embodiment, a computer boot method allows choosing a predetermined data block alignment for a cache that has multiple cross processor interactions. A cache RAM column of a cache as RAM system is loaded with a tag to prevent unintended cache line evictions, and boot code is executed, with the preloaded cache RAM appearing to the executing boot code stream as a memory store.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for authenticated recoverable key distribution are described. In one embodiment, an application key is provided to an integrated chip platform. In one embodiment, the integrated chip platform encrypts the application key with a Key Encryption Key, which is stored within the persistent memory on the platform, and outputs a ChipID and the encrypted application key to enable recovery. In one embodiment, the platform can provide the ChipID to a recovery database to replace a lost encrypted application key. In one embodiment, the ChipID is the public key of a public/private key pair, and the application key is provided to the integrated chip platform by encrypting it using this public key. In one embodiment, the ChipID and the Key Encryption Key are derived from a secret random number programmed into the integrated chip. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract:

The present invention provides a mechanism for independently developed firmware modules to be executed in an ordered sequence such that the services required by each module will be available when the module executes. Upon execution, each of the firmware modules provides one or more services that may be used by various components in the computer platform. In one embodiment, one or more firmware modules are stored on one or more firmware devices (FD), such as a flash memory component or other types of non-volatile storage mediums. The mechanism examines header information pertaining to each of the firmware modules in each FD and determines services that are required to be available prior to the execution of that module. Firmware modules are then executed in an order that is a function of the services each module requires (i.e., is dependent on) and the services each module produces using an iterative algorithm.

Abstract:

Technologies for establishing device locality are disclosed. A processor in a computing device generates an identifier distinct to the computing device. The processor transmits the identifier to a management controller via a hardware bus in the computing device. The processor generates a key and encrypts the key with the identifier to generate a wrapped key. The processor transmits the wrapped key to the management controller. In turn, the management controller unwraps the key using the identifier. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
