Abstract:

A waste treatment system is provided, including a waste melter system and an air pollution control system. Hazardous and/or radioactive waste in drums is conducted through a waste feed system into a plasma chamber where the waste is exposed to heat from a plasma torch. A part of the waste volatilizes and leaves the plasma chamber for a secondary reaction chamber, in which the waste is combusted to form a waste gas stream. The air pollution control system treats the waste gas stream through quenching, filtering and scrubbing, to produce a clean gas stream suitable for release to the atmosphere. Offgas may be recirculated through the waste treatment system as desired. The waste remaining inside the plasma chamber melts and drops onto sloped processing surfaces inside a hearth located below the plasma torch. The hearth includes ground electrodes configured for electrical contact with waste held in the hearth so that the melted waste in the hearth may be further heated by the plasma torch. As the melted waste is heated inside the hearth, the hearth is static, enabling the melted waste to separate into a first metal fraction having a high specific gravity and a second slag fraction having a relatively lower specific gravity.

Abstract:

An improved system and method for providing remote instant type lottery games is provided. The instant type games are presented on a portable gaming computer. Predetermined outcomes are pre-programmed into the gaming computer before it is provided to the player. This may be done by preprogramming a computer memory in the gaming computer with the outcomes during manufacture of the device. Thus, the gaming computer can be ready for play as soon as it is purchased, without any action necessary by the player or retailer to activate or enable play on the gaming computer. The predetermined outcomes of the games stored in the computer memory can be coded somewhere in or on the gaming computer, for example, in a bar code on the gaming computer or stored in a memory. The outcomes are read from the bar codes or memory during a redemption process and validated. Additionally, the gaming computer is provided with a “freeze” feature that may be activated by the player. When activated, the “freeze” feature prevents further play on the gaming computer. Any amounts that have been won by the player are “frozen” in the gaming computer, for example, on a display and in a memory. The freeze provides the player with a sense of security that they will not “lose” their winnings by further play or a gaming computer malfunction.

Abstract:

A lottery method including assigning a plurality of entities respective allotments of lottery tickets so that each allotment of lottery tickets for each respective entity corresponds to a number of eligible people in the entity. The method also includes selling the lottery tickets in each respective entity such that each lottery ticket comprises a unique lottery identifier and the method includes selecting a winning lottery ticket from a combination of the lottery tickets. The method further includes distributing a portion of proceeds from the selling to a winner having the winning lottery ticket, distributing a portion of the proceeds from the selling to the respective entity where the winning lottery ticket was purchased, or holding the portion of the proceeds for another drawing.

Abstract:

A lottery system that includes a device including a processor, a device storage, an input device, and a display and a server to communicate with the device. The server includes a datastore which includes a table of unique identifiers associated with predetermined outcomes and software. The server compares a unique identifier to the identifiers in the table and upon a match of the unique identifier with one of the identifiers in the table, the server validates the device to access the software. The software is retrievable from the server by the device and the software is downloadable by the device processor and storable on the device storage. The downloaded software is executable by the device and the unique identifier is transmitted to the software. The predetermined outcome of the unique identifier is revealed on the display.

Abstract:

A lottery system including a device to receive and input a unique identifier associated with a lottery ticket wherein the unique identifier including a coded predetermined outcome. The lottery system also includes a remote server to receive a download request from the device and the device downloads software from the remote server. The device executes the downloaded software and the device transmits the unique identifier into the software upon a prompt from the software. The software verifies the unique identifier and validates the device to access to a program from the software. The device executes the program and the execution of the program reveals the coded predetermined outcome.
