Abstract:
In general, the invention is directed to techniques for reducing the amount of switching current that is utilized within a magnetic storage (e. g. , MRAM) device. An example apparatus includes a fixed magnetic layer that provides a fixed direction of magnetization, an exchange-coupled magnetic multi-layer structure, and a non-magnetic layer placed between the fixed magnetic layer and the exchange-coupled magnetic multi-layer structure. The exchange-coupled magnetic multi-layer structure includes a recording layer configured to record information and an assisting layer having a lower anisotropy than the recording layer. The exchange coupling between the recording and assisting layers is operable to switch a magnetization direction of the recording layer. In some cases, the exchange-coupled magnetic multi-layer structure may further include a spacer separating the recording and assisting layers and configured to weaken an exchange coupling between the recording and assisting layers.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for controlling power consumption in a computer system are disclosed. The computer system may be trained, for example, to determine relationship information between user satisfaction and discrete frequencies at which a processor of the computer system runs. The determined relationship can distinguish between different users and different interactive applications. A frequency may be selected from the discrete frequencies at which the processor of the computer system runs based on the determined relationship information for a particular user and a particular interactive application running on the processor of the computer system. The processor may be adapted to run at the selected frequency.

Abstract:
A method of reducing processing time when assigning geographic areas to land cover labels using satellite sensor values includes a processor receiving a feature value for each pixel in a time series of frames of satellite sensor values, each frame containing multiple pixels and each frame covering a same geographic location. For each sub-area of the geographic location, the sub-area is assigned to one of at least three land cover labels. The processor determines a fraction function for a first sub-area assigned to a first land cover label. The sub-areas that were assigned to the first land cover label are reassigned to one of the second land cover label and the third land cover label based on the fraction functions of the sub-areas.
