Generation And Use Of Specific Probability Tables For Arithmetic Coding In Data Compression Systems
In one embodiment, when executing data compression or decompression for a data set, a particular compression category of the data set is determined, and a corresponding probability table specific to the particular compression category of the data set is accessed. Then, one of either arithmetic coding (e. g. , an encoder device) or decoding (e. g. , a decoder device) may be performed on the data set based on the specific probability table. Specifically, in one or more other embodiments, techniques may statistically generate probability tables specific to particular compression categories.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for reducing stiction in MEMS devices. The method comprises patterning a CMOS wafer to expose Titanium-Nitride (TiN) surface for a MEMS stop and patterning the TiN to form a plurality of stop pads on the top metal aluminum surface of the CMOS wafer. The method is applied for a moveable MEMS structure bonded to a CMOS wafer. The TiN surface and/or plurality of stop pads minimize stiction between the MEMS structure and the CMOS wafer. Further, the TiN film on top of aluminum electrode suppresses the formation of aluminum hillocks which effects the MEMS structure movement.

Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure include methods, apparatuses, and non-transitory computer-readable storage mediums for video encoding/decoding. An apparatus includes processing circuitry that decodes prediction information of a current block in a coded video bitstream. The prediction information comprises at least one reference picture index used in low delay inter bi-prediction for the current block. Each of the at least one reference picture index has a same value. The processing circuitry determines a first reference picture in a first reference picture list and a second reference picture in a second reference picture list based on the at least one reference picture index. The current block is coded using the low delay inter bi-prediction. The first reference picture list is identical to the second reference picture list. The first reference picture is identical to the second reference picture. The processing circuitry reconstructs the current block based on the first and second reference pictures.
Context Modeling Constraints For Block Differential Pulse-Code Modulation
A method of video encoding performed in a video encoder is provided. In the method, context modeling is performed to determine a context model for each of a number of bins of syntax elements corresponding to residues of a region of a transform skipped block in a coded picture. The transform skipped block is coded with Block Differential Pulse-code Modulation (BDPCM) and divided into a plurality of regions. The number of the bins of syntax elements being context coded does not exceed a maximum number of context coded bins set for the region. The maximum number of context coded bins is determined based on a comparison between a threshold and a number of quantized residues in the region. A bit stream including coded bits of the bins of syntax elements is generated based on the determined context models.
Multiview View Position Supplementary Enhancement Information Message
Aspects of the disclosure provide a method, an apparatus, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for video decoding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry can decode, from a bitstream, pictures associated with views of respective layers in a coded video sequence (CVS). The processing circuitry is configured to determine, based on a first supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message and a second SEI message, positions of the views to be displayed in one dimension. The first SEI message includes scalability dimension information (SDI) and the second SEI message includes multiview view position (MVP) information. The processing circuitry is configured to display the decoded pictures based on the positions of the views in the one dimension.
