Abstract:

The present invention relates to a novel CK-5 protein which is a member of the alpha chemokine family. In particular, isolated nucleic acid molecules are provided encoding the human CK-5 protein. CK-5 polypeptides are also provided as are vectors, host cells and recombinant methods for producing the same. The invention further relates to screening methods for identifying agonists and antagonists of CK-5 activity. Also provided are diagnostic methods for detecting immune system-related disorders and therapeutic methods for treating immune system-related disorders.

Abstract:

A human endothelin-bombesin receptor polypeptide and DNA (RNA) encoding such polypeptide and a procedure for disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for utilizing such polypeptide for identifying agonists and antagonists to such polypeptide. Agonists to the endothelin-bombesin receptor polypeptide of the present invention may be used to treat asthma, Parkinsons Disease, acute heart failure, hypotension and osteoporosis. Antagonists against such polypeptides may be used therapeutically to treat hypertension, ulcerigenesis, subarachnoid hemorrhage, asthma, tumors, ciclosporin toxicity, cancer and septic shock. Also disclosed are diagnostic methods for detecting mutations in the polynucleotides of the present invention and for detecting levels of the soluble polypeptides in samples derived from a host.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for extracting data content items from a web page are provided. A template is created by labeling data content items of interest associated with a web page and generating a template Document Object Model (DOM) tree based on the labeled web page. DOM trees are also generated for additional web pages that contain data content items for which extraction may be desired. These DOM trees are compared to the template DOM tree to determine alignment there between. The aligned data content items may then be extracted from the additional web pages and indexed, as desired. Labeling the data content items of interest prior to generating a template DOM tree allows for the desired data content items to be specified and more accurately extracted from related and/or similarly structured web pages.
