Abstract:

An illuminated exterior decorative device for vehicles includes a decorative part and an illuminating part. The illuminating part illuminates the decorative part from behind and includes a light source and a light diffusion portion. The light source of the illuminating part is embedded in the light diffusion portion. The light diffusion portion of the illuminating part is optically transmissive, preferably transparent. The light source is disposed along the edge of the decorative part. The light source includes a plurality of light emitting device (LED). The illuminating part has substantially the same pattern as the decorative part. The decorative part may be provided as metal coating on the illuminating part.

Abstract:

A bi-color illuminated wheel emblem includes a rotating part that rotates together with the wheel, a stationary part that remains stationary when the automobile is moving, a bi-color illuminated display that is attached to the stationary part and an electric power supply. The rotating part comprises a mounting device that mounts the emblem to the wheel and a shaft that holds the stationary part rotatably. The stationary part comprises a hollow shell that is held by the shaft and a weight that is attached to the shell. The bi-color illuminated display comprises a metal look layer, illuminating elements and a light diffusion layer that diffuses light from the illuminating elements. The electric power supply comprises a stator that is attached to the stationary part and a rotor that is attached to the rotating part.

Abstract:

A bi-color license plate frame, for surrounding a license plate of a vehicle, comprises a rectangular body comprising an aperture that is adapted to show a license plate, and a wall defining a hollow frame space inside the wall, a plurality of light-emitting elements contained in the frame space, and a controller that is electrically connected to the light-emitting elements and that controls the light intensity of the light-emitting elements according to the braking status of the vehicle. The wall of the rectangular body is translucent to the light of the light-emitting elements, and comprises a light diffusion layer, whereby surface illumination is provided when the light-emitting elements are turned on. Bi-color may include metal look and color emitted by the light-emitting elements, or red or black color of the light-diffusion layer and color emitted by the light-emitting elements.

An illuminated exterior decorative device for vehicles includes a decorative part for a vehicle trademark like an emblem, an illuminating part illuminating the decorative part at least partially, and a mounting part attaching the illuminated exterior decorative device to the vehicles. The decorative part comprises a combination of an optically opaque part and an optically transmissive part. The optically transmissive part has a predetermined color. The illuminating part includes a light source and a light diffusion part. The light source includes one or more regular electric lamp or some other source such as light-emitting-diode. The illuminating part can include a controller to control the color, luminance, and duration of the illumination. The mounting part includes a double-sided adhesive tape, mechanical fastener, or one or more magnets. The illuminating part may include a fluorescent substance and a material with phosphorescence.
