Abstract:
A system and method for detecting discontinuous transmission (DTX) frames. The inventive method includes the steps of receiving data transmitted in a plurality of frames; classifying each of the frames; analyzing the classification of a number of successive frames of the received data and providing a metric with respect thereto; and determining, in response to the metric, if a frame is a discontinuous frame. In the illustrative embodiment, the step of classifying includes the step of error checking the frames using a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) error checking protocol. The received frames are classified as good frames (G), erasure frames (E), or discontinuous frames (D). A numerical value is assigned to each of the frames based on the classification thereof. Next, the frames are filtered to provide an output Yn=Yn−1+Xn where ‘n’ is a frame number, Yn is the filter output for a given frame n, Yn−1 is the filter output for a previous frame, and Xn is a stream of input frames. A threshold is set for the output Yn to facilitate the detection of discontinuous frames.

Abstract:
The method for providing a data context service involves extracting context information from a host application associated with an oilfield project, the context information includes a current state of a user in the host application, sorting the context information into multiple dimensions of relevance, generating a search profile for each of the multiple dimensions of relevance, requesting a first set of searches using at least the search profile, receiving oilfield data items resulting from the first set of searches, obtaining a quality measure of an oilfield data item of the oilfield data items based on a pre-determined quality criterion, sending the oilfield data item as a search result to the host application after determining the quality measure exceeds a pre-determined threshold, and generating an output using the host application based on the search result, the output being used to perform an oilfield operation.

Abstract:
A hybrid approach to populating forwarding tables in a virtual network obtains forwarding data both by simulating routing protocol behavior in the virtual network to build forwarding tables, and by importing operational forwarding data from corresponding physical nodes in a physical network. The use of operational forwarding data improves the fidelity of the simulation by closely conforming forwarding behavior in the simulation to that which occurs in the physical network.

A computerized system for oil field applications. The computerized system may include an oilfield application and an oilfield application development kit that provides a software architecture for developing one or more plug-in components that may be executable by the oilfield application. The computerized system may also include an online distribution center that facilitates access to the plug-in components.
An elastic sleeve method and apparatus for use with a bar of soap to limit the surface area of the soap that is exposed, and reduce the rate of shrinkage of the bar of soap. The sleeve comprises a container of elastic material having a top, bottom, and an elastic opening for insertion of a soap cake. The elastic material has form-fitting dimensions adaptable to the shape of an underlying soap cake. The elastic material also has a plurality of apertures to provide atmospheric communication through the elastic sleeve to an inserted soap cake's surface and a plurality of bristles on the bottom to enhance suds and exfoliation.
