Abstract:
Circuits and methods for damping out parasitic resonance within a packaged integrated circuit (IC) are provided. A conductive path including a resistor and a conductor is added in parallel with a conductive path that provides power to components within a die of the packaged IC. When implemented in a packaged laser driver integrated circuit (IC), a conductive path including a resistor and a conductor in placed in parallel with a conductive path that provides a laser driver output, of the packaged laser driver IC, to a laser diode. This abstract is not intended to be a complete description of the various embodiments of the present invention.

Abstract:
In an embodiment, a proximity sensor includes a driver, a photo-diode (PD) and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The proximity sensor can also include a controller to control the driver. The driver selectively drives a light source, e. g. , an infrared (IR) light emitting diode (LED). The PD, which produces a current signal indicative of the intensity of light detected by the PD, is capable of detecting both ambient light and light produced by the light source that is reflected off an object. The ADC receives one or more portion of the current signal produced by the PD. The ADC produces one or more digital output that can be used to estimate the proximity of an object to the PD in a manner that compensates for ambient light detected by the PD and transient changes to the detected ambient light.

Abstract:
A pattern discovery-based method for identifying genetic associations in mapping complex traits. In one embodiment, this invention describes the applicable study designs, the pattern discovery algorithm on phenotypic/genotypic data, and methods to evaluate statistical significance of identified patterns. Patterns identified through the proposed methods act as signatures or profiles that can be used to locate genes or genomic regions responsible for the traits of interests in the genome. This invention has been successfully applied to two independent datasets collected from actual genetic studies and has produced significant results.
The invention is directed to a system and method for merging at least two datasets each having at least two keys and each having a plurality of data elements. The system determines a quantity of shared data elements in each dataset for each key as well as a quantity of unique data elements in each dataset for each key. The system then generates a graphical output representing the quantity of shared and unique data elements in each dataset for each key. The system receives a selection input selecting one of a plurality of merge strategies. Each merge strategy is based on the quantity shared or unique data elements in each dataset for each key. The system then generates a merged dataset containing data elements from the at least two datasets based on the at least two keys and the selected merge strategy.
Instantaneous Detection Of Biomarks And Uses Thereof
The present invention relates to a novel method for detecting instantaneously a biomarker immobilized to a solid surface and related uses. The method comprises exposing the biomarker to a probe having a magnetic label in a solution; applying a magnetic field to the solution, whereby a complex of the biomarker and the probe is formed on the solid surface; withdrawing the magnetic field; removing the solution from the solid surface; and detecting the complex instantaneously, wherein the presence of the complex on the solid surface indicates the presence of the biomarker.
