Abstract:

An inflatable three dimensional body is formed out of two thin sheets of flexible thermoplastic material by vacuum-forming surface contours in the sheets, and then securing the edge areas of the sheets together, as by heat welding. The mold member used in the vacuum-forming step is constructed so that convex projections on the mold member surface are sized differently than the corresponding projections in the pressurized hollow body. The mold member design takes into account contour changes taking place in the plastic sheet materials during the pressurization step.

Abstract:

A throwable disk is formed out of a wire ring and a thin fabric sheet in the space circumscribed by the ring. The ring concentrates the disk weight on the outer edge of the disk, so that the disk can be thrown comparatively great distances even though it is relatively light in weight.

Abstract:

An inflatable three dimensional figure that simulates an animal or a human personage, e. g. a panda or a policeman. The limb sections (arms and legs) extend angularly from opposite ends of a flexible pipe (tube) that extends through a hollow sleeve formed on the torso section of the figure. The limbs can be angularly adjusted to different positions (raised, lowered, etc. ). Angularl adjustment of the limbs causes the flexible pipe to twist within the hollow sleeve; frictional forces between the pipe and sleeve hold the limbs in adjusted positions.
