Abstract:
A retractable ramp system mounts a slideable ramp between lateral rail members which extend the length of a truck chassis and a container mounted thereon. The ramp is slideably suspended from a guide rail running parallel to the lateral rail members by means of a carriage component, itself slideably mounted within the guide rail. It is readily and easily extended and retracted by one person. When positioned directly on a truck chassis, the rail system is located above the hydraulic, electrical, and other mechanical systems positioned within the well of the truck chassis, such that the ramp is slideably moveable over these system components without interfering with them or any other part of the truck chassis. The ramp system is conveniently used for loading and off-loading containers which rest on the truck chassis or which are elevated above the chassis.

Abstract:
A lift frame assembly for a vehicle having an air suspension system is described herein which includes a lift frame assembly with a top frame body having a locking mechanism, a lift mechanism with an inflatable air bag operable with respect to the frame body and a source of compressed air in fluid communication with the inflatable air bag; and an air suspension system comprising a height adjustment valve for raising and lowering a frame height in communication with the source of compressed air, wherein the height adjustment valve operates in communication with an air suspension height control valve, and the height adjustment valve is operable to raise and lower the height of the frame by inflating or deflating at least a first pair of air springs positioned on a portion of the lift frame opposite the lift mechanism. The lift frame assembly may be used in conjunction with a cargo container assembly herein having a cargo base frame incorporating securable longitudinally pivotable support legs or lockable extendable and retractable support legs to provide a vehicle cargo container and lift frame assembly.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a vehicle frame assembly and methods of forming such assemblies as well as bracket for use in such assemblies. The assemblies include crossmembers arranged transversely and one or more rails extending longitudinally with respect to the crossmembers. Brackets are provided for connecting the crossmembers to the rail, and each bracket includes a first plate, a second plate and a connection section connecting the first plate to the second plate and bridging an area between the first and second plates. The first plates and the second plates of the brackets are configured to engage and be secured to either a surface of the at least one rail or a surface of the plurality of crossmembers. The brackets are configures so that when the first plates are secured to the surface of a rail, the second plates are secured to the surface of a crossmember and when the first plates are secured to the surface of a crossmember, the second plates are secured to the surface of a rail. The plurality of crossmembers or the at least one rail or both are galvanized, and may be galvanized before assembly of the frame. The brackets may also be galvanized.
